"A strong secular group"

Post by _Runtu »

Our new member "A Light in the Darkness" mentioned that he expected a certain response from a "strong secular group" such as ours, but I was just thinking that we really defy that description. Yes, there are atheists here, but there are also mainstream Christians, believing Mormons, agnostics, and everything in between. I wonder why someone would expect that we were secular in that way?

Maybe it's the lack of a dress code.

From his pinpoint of view, one can only see black or white. No pun intended from me. Either you fall in line with his ego, or you are a strong secular group out to persecute, lie, give wedgies....stuff like that.

Off to lunch. Our new playmate is funny.

Actually, I recognize there are a variety of perspectives on this board. However, it has a strong secular group who actively participates on the board and influences its culture. That's why I can look and see numerous discussions that are dominated by secular posters. You truly are a deeply prejudiced person.

Sure, some discussions are more secular than others, but I would disagree that the secular dominates the religious. I'm glad we have the mix of faiths (and non-faiths) that we have here. It would be really wonderful here if it weren't such a cesspool of porn and profanity. ;-)

Oh you're so cute. You cannot sign up, post a few bits of nonsense and think you know the people here.

Here's some homework: go check out the board composition threads.

No, I am 99.99% sure it is not Wade. There aren't enough typos or garbled grammar.

Whoever it is, I'm going to stop eating donuts until he apologizes for calling Runtu "deeply prejudiced."

Here's what is going on in your mind:

Wade likes to call enemies of his religion bigots. This guy just called someone prejudiced. Why, he must be Wade!

Awesome detective work there Sherlock, but I called GIMR prejudiced because she accused me of being a black and white thinker who can only see 'secular enemies" of my religion and supporters of it. This stems from her bizarre judgment that I'm a fundamentalist. It, apparently, didn't occur to her that I just see the board as having a strong influence of secular posters who would be apt to reply to a thread title connecting atheism in a certain way.

I thought he was calling GIMR prejudiced. Either way, bad form.
