Today alone, I've been called a 'wretch' by DCP, a 'jackass' by Jersey Girl, and a 'village idiot' by Jan. All for a prank call 'chat'.

ROTFLMAO. The reactions are almost as fun as the chat itself.

Jersey Girl - you would probably fit right into the celestial kingdom with the rest of 'em - where there is no loud laughter or light mindedness allowed.

Who Knows,

As much as I'm tempted to join you in a battle of wits, I make it a policy never to engage the unarmed for fear of compromising what little self esteem they have left.

If you want to respond to whatever is said on MAD...by all means, re-reigister and walk right back in. If you're IP is blocked, try one of those proxy servers and don't deny you care what goes on there because you obviously do.

Having said that, ex-LDS who have an axe to grind with their former church because they think/feel/believe that they and their money were exploited and who chose to exploit active members of the church by using their time and financial resources haven't evolved much so far as character is concerned.

What I find so astonishing, having been an active participant in these types of LDS boards is that when I chose to challenge a TBM everyone falls all over that and when I chose to challenge other critics all of a sudden I'm met with a barrage of verbal abuse and ridicule. It's so freaking predictable that it's funny.

If you guys can't put the shoe on the other foot and get some perspective don't blame me.

As for whether or not I like pranks. Yup, I liked them in 4th grade.

I see no difference at all. Why do you ask?

Yeah, i have a tendency to sink to the level of the poster i'm chatting with, so that's fine with me if you're done engaging - but don't do so because you pretend to perceive anything about my self esteem. My handy self esteem meter is showing about 78% right now - so I think i'm good to go.

Oh, you mean engage in deceptive behavior? Hmm, interesting...

Umm, that's great, but what does this have to do with me? Or were you done addressing me?

Ok, now I see where you're coming from. Jersey Girl doesn't like shenanigans - she's all business. Got it.

Yeah, that was good, back in 4th grade. heh.

Jersey Girl: How does using a proxy server automatically imply "deceptive behavior"?

Because they don't want you there, but you're coming back anyways.

Imagine that you get banned from walmart (for whatever reason - whether justified or not). But you still really want to go back to walmart, so you decide to put on a disguise to get into the store.

I could NEVER be banned from Wal Mart how dare you even suggest a thing! Hell, I'd need a recovery board all my own to suffer that!

What I am saying, Who Knows, is go ahead and use a proxy server to get on there and say what you have to say but identify who you are.

That's not deception.

You are kidding, right? How can you, a never-mormon, even begin to talk about perspective within the ex-mormon/Mormon paradigm?

Do you really have a clue what either side really feels? You can't stand in my shoes to know what I experience as an ex-mormon. Nor can you stand on the other side with the testimony bearers. You really know neither side. You haven't had one and you haven't lost one. You can watch it play out, you can philosophize all you want about it, but can you really feel what either side is all about?

Calling someone here on self-esteem issues is really too much. LMAO

Go ahead and disagree with and dislike certain behavior all you want. But all you really are here is a sideline spectator, no?

I just want to say that I'm sorry I posted anything at all over there about the chat. I don't really understand (and can't fully comprehend) the history and personalities on both of the boards. I actually feel like just in the last week I've been asked to take sides. First by Sput (which is odd because I'd never even interacted with him before), and then by Juliann.

If you're going to beat up on Jersey Girl you might as well let me have it too.

What was done in the chat room made me feel uncomfortable. What makes me more uncomfortable is the way in which wives are called whores and flames are thrown about here wily nilly. I also don't like my husband being called a "sperm donor" by sput and my integrity questioned by Juliann on MAD. I am incredibly uncomfortable with the way in which people treat each other on these boards. I just did an extensive search for any research on why people lose civility with anonymity. I found no answers.

I suppose I need to grow thicker skin or get out of the boards.

I do need to clean my house.
