I'm sorry to have to tell you this - but I am a vulgar heathen.

I'd hope, by now, people would understand the extremely dim view I have for morons that equate vulgarity with lack of intelligewnce or that use of profanity somehow negates an argument or discussion point...
Ok, Gaz, I'll give you the same question I gave to Jason Bourne not to long ago. Show use how the the use of a word or a class of words diminishes the argument?

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato
If you've ever seen My Fair Lady then you'd understand why I posted that image. How we use language does make a difference.
Profanity embraces any language that shows contempt for holy things, that breates a spirit of irreverence or blasphemy, or that is vulgar in nature, thus leaving a mental impression of unclean and unwholesome things.
profanity is an evidence of a diseased soul. "Out of an abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matt. 12:34; 15:10-20; Mark 7:1-23; Luke 6:45) The most wicked of all profanity is that which blasphemes the name of Deity, defying the divine injunction: "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taheth his name in vain." ( Ex. 20:7)
When you break down curse words to their meaning you have either words that degrade sexual union, degrade women, or degrade the human body in general. At its base level profanity is irreverent, at its worst it is degrading.
With the understanding that we are here to lift and build one another as children of God, and with the end goal of being like God ourselves, using profanity distances us from these goals.
