America view Mormon and American as apple pie. Especially when it come to family value issues.
While the FACADE of Mormon family values that most americans are barely familiar does ring a chord in the general public, you need to remember that Mormons do not have the corner on the market of nice or family values, nor are they the inventors of either. Only Utah Mormons think that.
The rest of the Mormon population that lives among the normal society engage with all walks of life, christian, muslim, buddhist, agnostic, athiest, straight, and gay. And guess what? I dunno about your world view, but I see good and bad people everywhere. Mormons have the same problems as the rest of society, they just hide it, just like the sex and drinking at BYU.
You need to watch more of the specials on the news channels, it is obvious the general public knows about as much about Mormons as they know about the Amish, and many think they are one in the same...
Thanks to Mitt, the Mormon garments are hung out on the clothesline of public opinion and most (if not all) of the nevermo public are aghast by the doctrines of Mormonism. Then when they tray and put a face on the leadership of Mormons, what do they see? A bunch of monotoned empty wrinkled men that look more like a CEO than a spiritual leader.
Mitt is the unwitting butcher of the secret Mormon meat locker, foisting the rancid and most rank meat out on the market. And a swallow of milk will not kill the taste.
