There's not that much to it, but...

I believe I was 14 at the time… maybe 15. One of my friends had a little ongoing feud with a hombre we went to school with. That hombre was at the dance, and I guess they shared some words. When we finally left the dance, outside in the parking lot was the hombre and about 6-7 of his “cousins.” Words were exchanged, then three of them pulled guns. Surprisingly, in our youthful stupidity, my friends and I started walking towards them after the guns were pulled (evidently there was something wrong with our flight or fight response). They ended up putting the guns away, gave some form of tirade about how we weren’t worth it, and then drove away.

Later, I found out that a few of them were arrested later that night for shooting at someone at a park (I believe it was Joe Shooing Park).

That was the first in a long string of such incidents, but that was the only time it happened at a church function.

By the way, going off that picture of yours, I think those two straight-edgers must've been insane to try messing with you. Makes me wonder what they were smoking.

Ha!

Perhaps the "power in numbers" got to their head. ::shrugs:: I’m really just a big teddy-bear though, so perhaps they could sense that there was a good chance I’d just take their crap and roll up in a ball. Luckily (for me, not them), I wasn’t feeling very Zen at that moment.

Motorhead, the band that, if they moved in next to you, would make your lawn die.

Glenn so should have played Wolverine in the X-Men movie. He was offered the role, but turned it down because it would have interfered with the bands touring schedule.

Is Motorhead supposed to be a Straight Edge band?

Heh, no. Someone mentioned punk, and I'm just flashing back to my high school days when I hung out with the punk rock guys at my school. We used to go hang out at this guys house and draw on his walls while watching bootleg videos of concerts. He had long hair dyed to look like fire, and hed put in all this goo to make it stand up a foot off his head. His friend had this ancient dog that was so old it was blind from carteracts and had no bowel control. I drew a picture on his wall of the cover of the Pink Floyd album The Wall.

There was a place in Vegas that carried all of the punk Rock stuff called The underground, Maybe Mercury remembers it. I got a Siouxie poster there that I had on my wall till I left for my mission, I gave it to my bud before I left.

This was the guy that tried to set me up with his girlfriends friend. We went on a date, and afterward he proceeded to tell me that I should hook up with her, and that her STD was almost cleared up!

LOL good times.

I hung out with him the night before I was to go to the MTC. Now I myself have never touched a drop of alcohol in my life, but he drank. There I was waking up in his floor, and during the night he had knocked over his beer can and it had run across the carpet and gotten me wet, so I went home smelling like beer.

He joined the Navy after I got back home, and I lost contact with him.

Bond: Motorhead? NOT straight edge.

Barrel: X and Phranc from Catholic Discipline and others complained about Spheeris. Look at her later films..yikes!

Steuss: when I have time tomorrow I'll tell you about the time I got gay-bashed at a Ramones gig. Maybe I already narrated it?

Gaz: the Dark Side awaits you. Seriously, man. Stop being a 'phobe and join humanity : ) !!!!

Later. Got to listen to Icky Thump. Just limewired the album. I love Jack and Meg but I shall not be seeing them at Madison Square Gardens. wtf. Days are over I guess when I used to see them front row. I still have my towel imprinted with Jack sweat that I begged off a roadie...

Wanna know how old I am? I had tickets for a Doors show. At Lagoon (they cancelled cuz Jim got arrested in Florida. Thus my first rock show was Santana/Country Joe & the Fish, and Bread). If y'all are nice I'll tell my stories of Bjork, Husker Du, Meat Puppets, many Henry Rollins encounters, Jello Biafra, why I've seen Black Flag more than any other band despite not liking them that much, and more recent Electroclash, Fall and Art Brut encounters.

I haven't heard this story. I look forward to it (sort of...). In return, maybe I'll share my story of when my friends and I exacted revenge on three dudes that gay-bashed one of our friends at The Beauty Bar.

Lemmy didn't do much talking. My friend knows him pretty well, and we were at a bar/grill in LA and Lemmy was there. He was glued to some pinpall or poker game thing (i can't remember what it was). My buddy said he's there almost every night, doing the same thing, all by himself. Anyhow, it wasn't much of an encounter - it was more like "hey lemmy, this is my buddy from utah" and he's like "piss off".

Heh - that was the same night that Ville from "Him" asked me for some coke.
