No cafeteria? I didn't know they were building a smaller temple in Draper--I haven't gone to see the site yet, I just assumed it would be normal sized. I enjoy eating in the cafeteria too--except that if I eat before a session, I have a tendency to be full and comfortable when the lights go off. It's hard to fight feeling drowsy after a full meal. I guess the new temples are going to less facitilities; I suppose it makes them more efficient.
There is "normal" sized temple. There are the large, full service temples, and there are the McTemples that are springing up in smaller communities. McTemples don't have cafeterias and they don't have clothing rentals.

Also, I can tell from experience that fresh flowers drop leaves and petals and they would take a lot of work to keep nice and to care for. Very nice, expensive silk arrangments are just fine--especially since the workers are old and replacing fresh flowers every day would be hard on them and extremely cost prohibitive.
The church has billions of dollars in expendable income. They have enough to finance a shopping mall, for Pete's sake. There is no reason why they cannot have fresh flowers every day in every temple.

Well, if it matters that much to you Harm, why don't you write them a letter.
Personally, the silk flowers are no big deal to me. And neither is the shopping mall--but that's for another thread.

They prefer to not face the fact that fiscal malfeasance was why the books were closed in the first place, and is a continuing possibility as to why they remain closed. They are trusting souls. I am not.
What you said, there, harmony, what you said. "Me, too." My thoughts are in harmony with yours.

I have a question about the temple food, since I've never had it:
I assume you have to pay for it the same way you have to pay to rent the temple clothing, right?
Also, how's the food quality and selection?

Right. Certainly not as cheap as the clothing rental though. You pay regular prices. Lunch will run between $5-6, depending on what you get.
Also, how's the food quality and selection?
It's cafeteria food. Nothing celestial about it. Heavy on the gravy, light on the fruit and whole grains. In my opinion, they should contract out the food to Sweet Tomatoes. I'd go to the temple lots more, if they did!

Good and reasonable in that order. Yes, you have to pay for it. My friend used to cook at the Temple and he was good at his job. Getting a dinner invite to his house is always a good thing. :)

It looks beautiful. To me that's how the Lords house should look like. I hope that Heaven is even better but the same look as this one. It really looks heavenly.
What is more peaceful? What God made or what Man made?
for the life of me I can't figure out how to add an image right now, but I know that I feel more at peace in nature. Looking at a waterfall, or nature, or the redwoods.
