While I grant that Pumplehoober doesn't reach the depravity of Mr Itchy in the stalker department, I do find it disturbing that he'd post information about Coffee which Coffee did not disclose to this board. Sometimes we all get a little careless about our online identity. I know that I, for one, would hate having someone post my picture that was sleuthed up from some other message board I've participated in or even just by me being careless about a photobucket account. While I don't mind someone bringing up things I've said on MA&D (or Kevin's place) over to this board, I would find it disturbing to suddenly read stuff I've written on other message boards which I have never mentioned. But the thing that would really tick me off would be to have someone post my in real life name when I have not disclosed it to that particular board myself. I'd still be ticked even if they were wrong about my name.

I beleive that the intention to give as little information about onesself as one desires should be respected more than what information was actually revealed as much information can be revealed unintentionally. While I tend to be paranoid and cover my rear, I can make mistakes. That's why I believe the desire for anonymity should be respected. Golden rule or the Categorical Imperitve or whatever.

So far as I know, Coffee doesn't have a wife. While Coffee named one of his children on this board, Stalker named both children and their ages. He likewise named Coffee by using a photo bucket account and went from there. Other posters on this board have used photobucket accounts to post images, don't you think you should warn them that if they cross Stalker, they will be hunted down in the same way?

To my knowledge, Coffee has never used his real life name on this board. The connections were made by using the photobucket account and it seems to me that Stalker scoured the internet using a similiar method as was used to in the case you refer to...if I'm reading you right. In the case of coffee's email address....coffee says he posts from Texas. The "Dallas" could easily be Dallas,Texas. Stalker connects the "DE" in the photobucket account to the email address.

No, Stalker used a photobucket account from an image posted here to scour the internet to discover other types of personal information on Coffee.

No, he doesn't have to. He's posting it on your board to aggravate Coffee and you're letting him.

After you've answered those questions, ask yourself this: Did Mr. Scratch do any of the above? Y/N

Scratch took names from online essays using links and/or announcements posted on FAIR (and perhaps Z, but I doubt that). Itchy took names from announcements on FAIR and perhaps ZLMB and continued to use those names to uncover further information.

He did absolutely no such thing, and you very well know it. All Mr. Scratch did was mention the real names of two MADites, both of whom had made reference to their own names in the past, online and in full view of everyone. As for Pumplehoober, he simply referenced information that Mr. Coffee himself posted to the Internet and compared the two. Pumplehoober never posted in real life information. about Mr. Coffee that Mr. Coffee didn't already reveal to the world. In short, Pumplehoober did none of the things that uber-stalker "Mr. Itchy" and his disgusting ZLMB sock-puppets did.

The Z trolls and Itchy posted, in part, information gleaned from the internet using a similiar pathway (that is to say, using information that was posted on FAIR and/or Z (essays /schedules and announcements, etc.) and went from there.

Now back to the gracious Scratch. The last contact that I myself had with Scratch was him alternately grilling me to name the Z trolls and accusing me of being one of them in the chat room here. Essentially "threatening" to out ME as one of them in an attempt to coerce me into naming the Z trolls and when told that it would likely only lead to more of the same sort of problems, asking me if *I* were making threats and why was I "protecting" them! Prior to that, Scratch had been slithering in and out of PM's and the chatroom to forward the theory that I was another poster on this board and questioning others as to whether or not I could have been either the Z trolls, Itchy or "Mrs Robbins" who posted on this board.

So, don't tell me about the "gracious" Scratch, Doc.

So long as you sanction and/or justify the kind of things that Stalker is doing, your board will contain a "creep factor" that will drive people away from here. It is a form of censorship via intimidation where people are afraid to openly speak their mind for fear of retribution.

It's already taking place. Don't believe me? Poll your community and let them reply anonymously!

Which is a stupid thing to say. I posted information specifically because it indicated that Coffee was not the person he claimed and that he appears to have lied about fairly significant issues.

This means, according to your and LSD's abysmal logic, that using Google to compare Mormon leaders comments is stalking them. Every time someone here references MDB they are stalking. Every time information from a secondary source is used here it is stalking.

The horrible flaw in your logic is that I used a name he publicly put on this board and did a Google search.

I spent more time looking up the name of an actress I saw on “30 Rock” a few months ago, that I knew I had seen before but could not remember where. I found out she was in another show I had seen.

What you have done is set the bar for stalking so low that you prove your incompetence and make anything stalking to justify your idiotic notions. The legions of teenagers trying to find dirty pictures on the Internet are now stalking. The individual who wants to contribute to their favorite Presidential candidate and uses Google to find the website stalked them. Anyone who puts a name into Google is stalking.

I should like to inform Your Majesty that Mormon leaders, celebrities, and politicians are public figures. As such, doing searches on them is expected. As to what Coffee publicly disclosed about himself, I don't recall him ever telling us his name except perhaps unintentionally through his email address (Frankly I suspect you are backpeddling on the David thing, for you are too smart to have mistyped "David" instead of "Dallas"). He certainly did not intend to have us link him to other message boards or to display his picture, or indeed to have mentioned his kids (fictional or not). So, if it pleases Your Majesty, I should hope you can see a there is a significant difference between public figures and the rest of the masses.

What you, Your Emminance, esteem to be significant issues will doubtless make it so. And as Your Highness is the law, you doubtless need not justify your actions by claiming something to be a significant issue. Jersey, I don't really care either way who coffee is or isn't. I did care that he attempted to intimidate me and found him to be rather annoying often.

I find it remarkable, quite frankly, that there are more people upset about some guy on the internet looking up harmless information on the internet about an anonymous poster, than there was any sort of outcry when this poster (that everyone is defending) found it appropriate to threaten the lives of me and my children.

Perhaps it's just that I was on the receiving end... I sort of doubt it though. I was just as appalled by coffee's behavior when he threatened Bond and freaked out on Liz. Perhaps things like this get my antennae perky when posters try to intimidate by bravado... I try to avoid this people in real life as well as on the internet.

I don't find pumplehoober's demeanor that alarming, I DO find the "so what" reaction to a poster threatening the lives of other posters to be the alarming aspect of this entire situation.

Either way, I'm glad he doesn't post here anymore and hope it stays that way.

Again, I don't care who he is or what he said he is or anything about him... this in all actuality told me VERY little about him and told me a great deal about the people that post here.
