I had been posting at MAD this week, engaging in a few pleasant discussions with several posters, including Kerry Shirts, Ben McGuire and Sargon, who as I understand it, is or was a mod.

Nope, never been a mod, and never will be one. But for what it's worth, I really enjoyed our discussion while it lasted.

This is so disheartening, I just don't know what else to say. I posted on the thread created by David and I just give up. The Elohim and Heavenly Mother (Asherah) thread was a wonderful discussion. Strong views were expressed and in the end, the dialogue between the main adversaries (dart/JasonH./ Kevin and Kerry) was congenial.

Who could ask for a better outcome than that? Folks banging their views against the other, going toe to toe and taking away something useful in the end?

Seriously, who could as for anything better on a discussion/debate forum?

This is why I rarely post over there anymore. Let them have their fun little members only club and strengthen each other without opposition.

Kevin, salute you obstinate determination. But I think you are chasing a crazy maker.

By the way I have to log in four times in a row to access this board. Is Kevins frustration mine factor say ten?

What I was thinking was what I see in the Mrs God thread is that if you start with the assumption that Joseph Smith is revealing the clearest views of God, combine that with the assumption that the final redaction of the Old Testament was an overreaction by semiapostates then you can assemble bits and pieces to create a theoretical Old Testament teaching Mormon theology. This is especially true if you use not only Biblical fragments but pieces of mythology from the entire millenium and from the entire fertile crescent. What to say? A person can do that if they want.
