How can one be a hypocrite for someone/something else?As long as I know I'm a hypocrite for the truth - I am extremely happy.
How is it possible to be a "hypocrite for the truth?"
I smoke, but I know smoking kills. I will never forget Yul Brynner's warning before he died of lung cancer - "Don't smoke!" Most lung cancer victims don't speak out in such a way. They prefer to be "consistent" with their position, having smoked. Some cancer victims do not stop smoking, like a friend of mine who recently died of cancer. He continued smoking because it was too late anyway. We are all hypocrites in some way. Even if, hypothetically, you knew Mormonism was true, could you/would you live it's high standards 24/7? I'm sure some do, maybe many, but would denying the truth make any difference?
Is it hypocrisy to warn others about where you went wrong, and continue to go wrong? Do you still eat fatty foods knowing that it's causing you heart disease? We humans are full, full of hypocrisy, but that should not stop us from telling the truth, about ourselves, or others, or facts.
