Just because I am not Catholic, doesn't mean I refer to Father Byrd of the Blessed Mother Parrish of my hometown of Owensboro as Mr Byrd, or buddy, or dude... Again, I guess this is just a difference of cultures here. In the south, I hear titles passed around much more often than not.
Nephi, this has nothing to do with the Catholic Church. The question was whether or not as Ex-Mormons we respect the titles of Mormonism.
The answer is quite flatly NO. Absolutely NOT. I have no respect for the institution, its policies, its secret temple ceremonies, its clergy or its leaders. Not one ounce.
It is an institution started by a megalomaniac who married teenage girls, swindled money, threw his power around - and a whole lot more. It is an institution full of half-truths, created doctrine, white-washed history and a buried past. A corporation where the motto is, "I don't know that we teach that" and "Those were just little flecks of history" is common place. Shut up, obey, don't look at the skeletons in our closet - because if you do, well then you are just persecuting us!
No. It deserves no respect whatsoever, even if the Hinkster has paid millions of dollars to polish the corporate facade.
