Seems some apologists argue against an argument that doesn't exist.
It is as if they make up an argument so they can argue but when no one argues with them, they think it is because they have such a good argument.
Its gotta make you smile!

And if someone decides to point this out to them (dude) then the mods step in and delete their comments.

I was wondering what the dude's deleted comments were.

That's pretty much the actual definition of a strawman argument:
The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern:
Person A has position X.
Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).
Person B attacks position Y.
Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Yes, Juliann's oft repeated argument that the critics claim "all the discovery has been done"! is a textbook example of a strawman.
In fact, it's so obviously a strawman argument I am a bit taken aback that even she doesn't recognize it as such. But clearly she does not, because she proudly repeats it, over and over.

I think the strawman fallacy only applies when critics do it.

Well, that's likely because she doesn't even know what is meant by a straw man argument. She probably thinks it comes from The Wizard of Oz: "If I only had a brain..."
Of course, that applies to her as well.

The above is a Strawman...

Be careful, there's a whoopie cushion in that armchair. ;)
