..for sure. I understand.

Surely I wouldn't want everyone that ever interacted with me (at some point) to get together and compare stories. I would sincerely hope that those that had a few good stories would pipe up.

For me, it might depend entirely on what the overall conclusion was ;)
I could come up with some good stories too. I just wouldn't call that the 'whole' story.

But I'm sure that's true for all of us. (In the sense of a group of people nattering on about - say - me. If all the stories were positive without fail, I'd be more than a little surprised...)

Never, ever, ever, ever has she judged me harshly. Ever.

I'd hazard the opinion that that's as much about how you are as much as about how she is.
Just a guess mind...

I'm also going on what 'I've' known...

by the way - on the exact topic of the thread, I agree that what Charity posted is actually pretty representative of what quite a few EV'ers seem to go on about. Not the 'respectable' ones mind, but a lot of the general rabble do - a lot.
(I'm thinking of ChristianForums specifically here...)

Well for sure who knows what the "whole story" is anyway? Not any of us.

Certainly none of us know this woman completely just by corresponding with her or interacting with her on a bulletin board. Can I accept that she may come across in one way to others and a different way to me? Sure. Can others do the same? Not so certain sometimes.

Reminds me of Wade and DCP too. I don't dislike either of these men. Sometimes I rather like what they both say and don't understand how these black and white one dimensional pictures are created by their opponents that stereotype these 3 dimensional humans. We don't know them.

Why the need to pretend that we do?

I'm thinking of ChristianForums specifcally here...

I would bet my heathen soul on the fact that the antis in her scenario were EVs. She spends time on the Christian boards specifically created to attack LDS.

On those boards she acts incredibly restrained. I've observed her, as well as others, on those boards for a few months. The only people acting ridiculous and hateful were the mainstream Christians for the most part.

I'm not sure who is doing that Monk.

I do reserve the right to make up my mind about somebody, based on the information I have to hand.
I wouldn't claim that it's infalliable, or that my opinion is somehow de facto better than someone else's. But it is my opinion to form...

When I was regularly browsing around on ChristianForums, the treatment of Mormons was horriffic. Actually, routinely worse than anything I've personally seen from Charity, I have to say...
And people think it can get bad around here!!

So, in that sense, I have no trouble believing you.

Well sure it is yours to form. My point is the descriptors as her being a "moron" and such really don't accurately portray someone that is a multi-faceted woman.

I think there are probably a few people that like to box people into categories. You don't think so? You don't notice that? On both boards? In life?

Oh OK - I accept this point.
I don't agree that she's a moron (Sorry Bond). I actually think she's pretty smart - she just believes some stuff that I find hard to believe. But she doesn't come across as 'dumb' to me. The worst I'll say on that front is that she lets herself get tied in the kind of knots that someone often can do when trying to believe something a bit - ermm - 'unbelievable'.
...but that's got nothing to do with any part of my 'disapproval' of some of the things I've seen her say. I don't really care about disagreement on just plain belief.

I think there are probably a few people that like to box people into categories.

Agreed. And perhaps there are some here who are judging unfairly. Maybe I'm one of them.
...but then again...

You don't think so? You don't notice that? On both boards? In life?

Yes of course - it happens all the time.
I've spoken up about both DCP and Wade. I think there is a 'balanced' view to be found for both of them.
...I also believe the same is true of Charity too...
