Actually, if you think about it, that really doesn't make much sense. Two income families (mom and dad both working) tend to make more money than one income families. Therefore, there is more money to tithe.

Maybe the brethren need to re-think that little strategy a bit.

Well, the goal is survival of the cult. Robot production lines are more profitable than a tithe. Why have two incomes over 30-50 years when you can have 4-8 of those incomes?

In addition, I don't think the church will be able to repackage or reposition its' product with much success. It would have to be successfully repositioned to those with money (the West, Japan). These people are more educated and won't be buying. Accordingly, the church will try to increase its' core base through higher birthrates.

Well, all I can say is that they better start marketing to the Chinese if they want to ride the wave of the next great superpower (economically, technologically, militarily).

No, not every woman. And if you don't see that, I probably can't do much to help you.

It'll be a chilly day in the Outer Darkness when the Church starts considering people's individual circumstances and personalities instead of the "general rules". For some women, this lifestyle is just peachy. The others would have to gorge themselves on Prozac, as someone has already noted above.

It's like saying "stay together for the kids", which is a pile of steaming excrement. Kids benefit much more from having happy, but divorced, parents than two miserable smiling hypocrites.
