In a way it is really sad and I can actually relate to what PP is trying to say about older LDS single males. I was out of the Church by age 19 via a church court. Four two decades (time does fly) I dated but really wanted to date a Mormon girl but was not really there mentally as I didn't think I was a good person and church dogma was always present, clouding my mind. Now, as I come out of a nervous breakdown, and find out more about the iceberg (church history), not just the tip, I am looking forward to dating and hopefully getting married. It looks like I might not end up in hell. One thing about the LDS church is that fear is a driving force in most peoples life. Why does Utah have the highest anti-despression presciptions. They have so many shoulds, oughts, and musts in your life. Albert Ellis has a program called RET (rational emotive therapy) where he shows that most unhappiness comes from the people that think I should do this, must do this, ought to do this. It can be paralyzing as my life shows. I think that one should actually have compassion with those who are psychologically paralyzed. PP is spot on with his analysis but his method (word choice) sort of stinks.
