Then why do we care what he did? or why he did it? or even if he did it?
I'm not sure either, except I'm from Idaho and I have a vested interest.
But besides my personal reasons, I think the real reason why this became an issue on these Mormon boards is because he was involved pretty high up in the Romney campaign and was dropped like a hot potato (Pun intended) when this was announced.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.

It's fine if two people want to do something sexual. You can't do it in a public place, though. There's obviously some rampant issue with gay sex in bathrooms. I've heard it talked about on other boards. It happens at BYU, it happens at the airport. The problem is that I have to use that same restroom and so do you. I might have to take my child into that restroom and I shouldn't have to walk in on a BJ. That's why there was a sting going on, because enough people had complained that the police got involved. Since nobody was going to pay the police officer couldn't have actually started a sex act before he arrested Sr. Craig. I don't give a flip what Sr. Craig does in his private life but this really isn't about that.

Bingo
Very well put!

You know, if this is such a huge problem, I wonder why in all of my years I have only seen public sex in Greece. I have used public restroom facilities all of my life, and I have never seen anything like this. I stand by my original statement, and partly because hetero-sex in public places is also not unknown, when there are sting operations for both gays and heteros, then fine, but until then...
Also, there are other ways of handling this, like having uniformed police officers make regularly checks in bathrooms, and catch people in action, so to speak. The sting operation thing is just plain shady and smacks of bigotry, imho.
