You have a tendency not to “hear” the other. Look at your insistence that exmormons don’t have a right to feel angry. You stated your opinion in the form of a question. You received many sincere responses explaining why, indeed, exmormons are entitled to anger. Yet it doesn’t look like you absorbed one thing any of us said.
I don't think that this is true. On the MAD board, Wade posted an 'understanding and dialogue' thread about coming together with postmos and exmos by having a discussion. It was a good post. I encouraged him to post the same post on the postmo site and I believe he will do so. I also started an exmormonfoundationthread which started the idea.
I am afraid beastie, you do not know me very well. Also, I am assuming that some of the postmo posters on MAD have informed Jeff of my posts and perhaps now they are trying to clean up their act over there. I don't know. Also, I assume that Ray has read my comments about the postmo site and skimmed through it and made his blog and then went to post on the postmo.
Am I assuming too much? I listen. And I do something.

And referring to "common knowledge" doesn't cut it.
That's pretty funny that they cull critics when they outnumber the apologists. That has never happened, to my knowledge. What did happen is that MorningStar complained that the critics were getting too numerous, and suddenly a whole bunch of us got banned without warning.
And I defy anyone to come up with a clear statement up front from MAD that they protect apologists while holding a different standard for apologists. For proof that apologists say what critics can't, one word: Pahoran.
There are critics on the MAD board right now. Without critics there would be no MAD. But at the same time, if the critics go into mocking mode, they will be banned or if they become to numerous and begin to take over the board, some will be culled, in my opinion. As was said, a long time ago by one of the moderators, critics come and go on the MAD board, there is always a steady supply but the LDS are different in that regard. Getting the LDS to come to MAD is not such a sure thing. Hence, the difference. If the LDS posters feel offended by the critic tones, those critics could face the block.
But since I am not a moderator, it is only my opinion.
Hi Jeff (Ricks), feel free to engage in censorship (just like MADB does), and delete this thread, and the link. I fully understand. The truth hurts. Get rid of truth: Press "delete".
At least Ray acknowledges what the MADB does!
Do you agree, Why Me?
3 days and you can't answer a simple question and it's a yes or no question at that!!
The MAD board does engage in banning. No problem. But how many Mormons are posting on the postmo site? How many discussions are they having on that site? None. Under the home rules, no Mormon could survive. As I have said, Mormon posters on the postmo have a different set of rules to obey. Rules that are not listed on the 'house rules' page. More is expected of and from them. And this was my experience. Ray also has experienced it on his thread. Even though Ray responded to many posts, Jeff was sticking him to respond to his post. Postmos are not treated that way. For the Mormons they must respond to all posts and be expected to take the mocking or hostile remarks. Woo...but unto him or her if the Mormon also does so. Plus, the Mormons tend to get a free psycho test on the postmo board. Their psyche can get dissected on the board. This almost happened to Ray when his exwife was brought up. Ray nipped it in the bud, but the postmos tried.
Not a good tactic, I believe.
However, their mission statement paints a different picture. How can the mission statement reflect the house rules? One is an apple and the other is an orange.
whyme, in real life you may be the best listener in the world. But you do not apply those skills on the internet while you are defending the faith. This thread demonstrates that, once again - even while you're insisting you do listen, you haven't shown that you have really listened to what we've said to you. You haven't appeared to register AT ALL the fact that runtu and I both showed you that MAD is NOT upfront about its heavy bias towards believers and its different set of rules for critics. Yet, postmormon IS upfront about that.
You claimed the reason you don't criticize MAD while you criticize postmormon is because MAD is upfront, while postmormon is not. Yet reality is the complete opposite.
Have you posted anything that seemed to have registered and responded to this fact? No! You just simply repeat yourself.
You can get away, to a certain extent, with that type of annoying behavior when you're at home, but not when you're a guest at someone else's home.
Also, I am assuming that some of the postmo posters on MAD have informed Jeff of my posts and perhaps now they are trying to clean up their act over there.
You flatter yourself.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
why me: I guess to get brownie-points you need to do a little stephen covey ritutal: show that you understand by writing the critical argument back in your own words so people know that you understand the issue, but respectfully disagree.

The reason I didn't read any of your stuff on PostMo is because I thought "anyone with the screen name of Why Me has got to be a whiner."
I have referred to him as why me the victim. Whiner works well, too.
I hate his avatar too, he had real issues about Bednar, Tommy and Boyd and other avatars being disrespectful but if he reveres Ole Joe as he claims he is showing him absolutely no respect.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably. bcspace

I can't believe people have tried to have a reasoned discussion with this guy/gal (who knows?). I personally gave that up a long time ago. He never answers the questions that are asked of him.
Once you've stepped in a cow pie, you know to be a little more careful when you start walking through the pasture. And one gives wide berth to those stinky things. For me, why me is a stinky cow pie and I don't think I will step into one of those again. I can smell 'em a mile away. It takes a long time to clean that stuff out of your boots, you know.
And the avatar: doesn't it crack you up every time you think about the poster behind that stupid picture? It does me!

Gramps do you remember cowpie from MAD? I wonder what happened to her. She started out like a spitfire on the MAD board but began to mellow with time. I wonder what happened to cowpie??
Now gramps I know that I get under your skin. But come on...admit it...you like my posts..come on...admit it... :=)
