I'm Getting Bored...

I'm WAY bored of Mormon related topics. But then, I've been arguing Mormonism since before it was cool. I pretty much am over the Mormon aspect, but I am still quite interested in finding a generalized philosophy... Every once in a while a thread pops up where I can engage. But mostly, I stick around the blogs and the off-topic.
I don't think I'll ever be interested in Mormonism again. I may pop in every once in a while whenever my family tries to convert me again, but really, I'm over it. I feel like I won the battle, and I don't really need to keep fighting it.

Thanks. I think this is what I'm experiencing. I'm with you on the internet beer when Schmo reaches godhood.
Cool! When will Schmo reach Everest is what we need to know. I don't want to miss the big event. In fact, let's just keep posting back and forth on this thread and schmo can do a couple triple posts and we can celebrate tonight!
I already started. It's a hefeweissen for me tonight. Then a nice micro brew at my favorite pub here in Dresden. They still have a picture of Lenin up on the wall. A great place to celebrate!
I've already started too. I've already had four glasses of water, or as us living in the US call it, "beer."

No problem, you just have to drink a few more. This pub I'm off to in a bit has great 7.3 beer. It is delicious!
I'll drink one or two liters just for you in celebration.

It's only 10:20 am here in Denver. I've gotta isolate plasmids from some clones at work today, so I'll be busy. But...I'll keep checking in. I've got some Anchor Steam in the fridge (at home, not at work).
Also: I'd like to hear from some of the critics who have been at this for a while. What keeps you interested? Is it a fondness for debate (I've never been a good debater), is it challenging, is it an emotional release (this was me, for a while), is it *fill in the blank*?

Ummmh! Love Anchor Steam. Good choice, after work, that is!

I'm jealous.
Actually, I just looked in my Styrofoam cup, and it actually is water in there. I hate it when I get those two mixed up.

Too funny. I forget that most are in a different time zone than me. Oh well, will be thinking of you all. Ha Ha.
I'm going to make some money playing pool tonight. Love Friday nights out with my students.

I hate to answer this as though I consider myself a critic, because I don't, really. Calling myself a critic makes it sound like I actually have enough respect for or regard the church seriously enough to formally criticize it, and that's just not true.
But I will say that for me, it's likely about the emotional release. Plus, I like to pretend I'm funny sometimes, and it's easy to take pot shots at the church. Of course, those shots are more effective in front of an audience that understands and appreciates the references.
