We've got almost 500 members now, not the less than 100 that we had not so long ago.

harm, we really don't have almost 500 members. If you look at the memberlist you can see that a large number of members are those who registered a screen name and never posted. These should be deleted, IMHO.

This board has a place for the silly, the serious, the ridiculous, and even for anyone having a meltdown. It's not always the same forum though.

Perhaps a personal meltdown would be better handled in ... the Off Topic forum, since your personal meltdown has nothing to do with the LDS church. Unless, of course, your personal meltdown is somehow related to the LDS church. I'm aware of at least one other person who is having or has had a personal meltdown in the recent past, and I doubt if anyone on this board knows about it, since he/she doesn't bring it public.

The point is, this forum is for discussion about the LDS church. Either tie your meltdown to the church (not terribly difficult... isn't everything bad that happens somehow related to the LDS church? We claim everything good that happens from every scientific discovery to the internet itself, so surely a case could also be made for the opposite), or take it to the appropriate forum. All of us are in some sort of personal meltdown, yet we don't discuss it in inappropriate places.

I do talk about issues that deal with LDS. Often. I'm actually quite interested in the debates and pop in to ask questions.

And those comments are not in contention.

I'm sorry if you, or anyone else, thinks I'm smuttying up the board. In all sincerity I think a bit of smut is good for the soul. And that's coming direct from the smutfiend queen herself.

There is even a place for smut on this board. It's called the TELESTIAL forum. Take it there and keep it there. It's kinda like no one puts the kitty litter box in the middle of the family room, because that's not an appropriate place for kitty poop. And Terrestial isn't the place for smut.

I recall you telling me how to make rootbeer (which was delicious by the way) in a thread in this forum! Sheesh, you were soooo in the wrong forum for that.

That's because the discussion was about an LDS function (the 24th of July celebration, where in my ward, my family is in charge of the root beer), and thus was related to the LDS church.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Why would you want to delete them? Can't they register a name and then lurk to their hearts' content? And some want to read the blogs that are only for registered members. What about those people? Should we delete them too, because they haven't posted.

And we are still waiting for Charity to make her appearance. We don't want to delete her before she gets up her nerve to make that first post, do we?

There are certain posters on here that I enjoy. Their personalitie as well as their friendship. We have inside jokes and commonality that we do share and sometimes that is put into our posts.

Inconceivable I've read threads where the thread was nothing more than amusement and you're all over it complaining. You think that is a worthwhile? Why is THAT any less ridiculous than those that are getting a chuckle out of the thread. If you don't enjoy the thread get out of it. Don't look!

I don't really care what people talk about on here. I enjoy pretty much everyone and understand that in life - as well as boards- there will be conversations and people that we don't want to be near. I walk away from those conversations or people in real life. Why can't people here just do the same?

Who has problems with impulse control? Those that Twitter and fling silliness on the board or those that can't help it but to peek in at it and complain? Or both?

Don't wanna see it? Don't look. Good grief.

Right now, we have 20 guests on this site. It behooves us to remember that what we write isn't read by only those to whom the message is addressed, but by anyone and everyone who opens the thread. Granted most of them are likely on the Trashcanman thread, taking in the amazing conversation between David Bokovoy and Kevin Graham, but that doesn't mean they won't stick around and open some of the other threads and maybe join a conversation. We've got almost 500 members now, not the less than 100 that we had not so long ago.

I, for one, do care what we talk about here. This board is designed and set up to discuss issues dealing with the LDS church. The off topic forum is for everything else. We shouldn't require board nannies/mods to keep threads on topic, ala MAD; we shouldn't have to be reminded of this; we're all adults here. There is a forum for off topic silliness. Use it.

I know for some, this board is like their baby, and they feel they've helped it into its adolescence.

However, some of these complaints are nonsense. Gosh, how do some of you get through walking down the street a block without having your ears and souls offended? How do you survive? earplugs? blinders?

I really treasure the few friends here that I have let into my life and me into theirs and that is important to me.

I'm staying around and I am going to have fun with them and let the moderators do their job.

Why me is not the only whiner here, for sure.

I don't like the jerks on the tram every morning screaming into their cell phones or playing their music so loud that we all get to hear it, but that is life. It is not how I would raise my children necessarily or how I do it myself, but I am not offended by it and my life just keeps rolling on. And all these different people add color and joy to the world.

I kind of dig it that way and I hope the board can be like that.

But, some people are soooo sensitive. What's up with that?

If you're referring to me, Gramps, all I'm asking is that comments be appropriate to the forum in which they are placed. We're getting sloppy about where we post what we post.

Well I know of a few people having problems in their life and they are on this board - and this board allowed me to recognize their problems and issues. I'm rather concerned about human beings and whatever problems they have. I have NO qualms whatsoever with those that wish to heal via whatever medium they choose.

Interestingly, it seems to me, that this entire board IS a meltdown. For real! Good grief! The people that come here to heal and seek comfort for their issues with the LDS Church. Is THIS not a public forum for them to discuss their issues and pain? What is THIS board if NOT for that Harmony? Why do YOU post here? Surely YOU have no issues with whatever that you make public?

The point is, this forum is for discussion about the LDS church. Either tie your meltdown to the church (not terribly difficult... isn't everything bad that happens somehow related to the LDS church? If Shades wants me to leave he can tell me. I don't discuss much of what is happening in my personal life in THIS forum Harmony. I've been fairly careful about that! So surely that comment isn't aimed at me?

Well I'm the kitty and this board is my box. I don't think I leave droppings everywhere. As a matter of fact the ex-Mos and LDS are the ones most often found chuckling over sexual matters. I do this so infrequently (and cringe often) that I would sincerely hope you, again, aren't directing that comment to me!

I liked it when the Mods split threads when there were offtopic comments. Surely anyone that thinks that would be appropriate, in any instance, can send a PM to a Mod and it can be dealt with. I'd think that would be more effective than complaining about it in the thread. Or other threads.

I get PMs from quite a few people that read my blog (thank you if you do so and are kind to me) and have NEVER posted a word on this board.

Indeed, Book of Mormon. Issues with the church.

No one's asking anyone to leave. Where did that come from? All I'm saying is, to those who are currently not: post appropriate to the forum.

No, you aren't, and no, it isn't. I'm saying that as gently as I am able. Smut belongs in Telestial, period. Never in Terrestial, never in Celestial. Only by staying true to the values of MDB can we attract and keep posters across the spectrum of belief. Smut placed inappropriately only gives MAD ammunition against us. If you want to wallow in a kitty litter box, by all means, do so... in Telestial where such smut belongs.

I don't think I leave droppings everywhere. As a matter of fact the ex-Mos and LDS are the ones most often found chuckling over sexual matters. I do this so infrequently (and cringe often) that I would sincerely hope you, again, aren't directing that comment to me!

I'm directing to whoever is making comments inappropriate to the threads and inappropriate to the forum, not you specifically. Altogether too many threads are being ruined by inappropriate comments lately. Many of us have noticed it. I'm often one to say what others are only thinking. Put the smutty comments in Telestial where they're appropriate, not here where they are not.

Well I'm confuzzled harmony. I see issues with God all over this board. I do have issues with faith and spirituality and it is something that interests me greatly! Sorry if my considerations and issues don't quite meet others definition of 'issues' that they like to read about.

How bout you PM a Mod and ask them to deal with it? I too have issues with people being called names (matter of fact I had a knock down drag out for a few pages with schmo when you were called an innapropriate name!) and being cruel in this forum. I do not enjoy it at all.

I also find the sexual twitters sort of silly sometimes... but CONSIDERING the LDS have a really, really, really funked up repressed sexuality then that is COMPLETELY understandable. It appears, to me, that the sexual hurrahs or snickerings DO directly relate to how people have issues with sexuality in their lives. I see it as completely appropriate - even if it skeeves me out sometimes. Again, understanding that each person has their own way of coping with their issues - and that IS a Church issue Harmony.

Recall the numerous threads on masturbation? Guilt? Sexual relations in a marriage? Etc.. these things manifest in sometimes bizarre ways on this board. It is perfectly clear to me, when I see it, what is happening. I understand that it DOES relate to the Church in many instances.

Perhaps people should ask the Mods to split the threads off... unless of course the ENTIRE thread deals with sexuality - as is often the case since human sexuality is a topic the Church takes on.

No, you aren't, and no, it isn't. I'm saying that as gently as I am able.

Well I was being silly (see I do THAT!) when I wrote that Harmony.

What do you define as smut? Perhaps this is where there is a breakdown in communication? I rarely see real smutty things in this forum. Perhaps everyone has different sensibilities and it is difficult to know what is or is not completely innapropriate. For instance, what Schmo said to me in this thread would most definitely, I believe, belong in the Telestial forum. Now I don't have my panties in a wad about it but if someone else does shoot a PM to a Mod.
