It's fine. I would rather talk about history and doctrine, but I don't need defenders from insults. Too bad she has to malign my poor wife.

Why do you refer to your wife as "poor wife"? (It's not the things we intend to write that are so revealing. It's the things we don't intend to write that reveal what we really think.)

And after God unleashed man from the undifferenciated medium of the Light of Truth he must have realized that he would be paying for that mistake over and over and over again.

I'm not following your logic, marg. Why is Beastie's post a stupid post?

Because it doesn't need a separate thread. Because it is coming across as making a mountain out of a molehill. And when a group pile on one person or when a person gives the impression of wanting a person to be dog-piled on over such a small insignificant insult..it looks immature by the posters involved.

I think you mean it looks immature by the posters NOT involved.

So what do you think about the reason behind this thread? That it's okay for a man to insult another man by calling him a woman. You refer to it as a small insignificant insult. Do you not see that as a significant insult, or even the ultimate insult? (keep in mind the context of the board... ie, is it insulting in the LDS church, knowing what you do about the way women are treated in the LDS church... for a man to be called a woman?)

Well, marg, where we disagree is on whether or not it was an "insignificant insult". I don't think it was, and think it reveals something important about crocket's character.

However, I have decided that deliberately insulting him would only fuel his martyrdom complex. So after this thread finishes, I will just ignore him.

I will let my comments stand so bob can see the cost of his misogyny - that which he values the most - his reputation.

I certainly didn't hold him in particular high esteem in the first place due to his usual inane comments, but now I view him with complete and utter disdain.

That's the second time "Ms." Scratch has been used by crocket (at least that I'm aware of) . I pointed it out then, too.

Your "explanation" is pretty disingenuous, crocket.

I consider it an insult but not a sexist one. Women do not like being referred to as men anymore then men like being called women. I have the scars to prove my theory.

Oops! Oh man! I've asked Scratch before if he was a woman! But in my defense I was just trying to figure out who Mr. Scratch was after he thought I was a spy and freaked out a friend of mine. Then Mr. Scratch thought I was Jersey Girl.. or something?! Who knows really what he thought.

But anyway I just asked Mr. Scratch what gender he was (in chat a few times) because I thought he was a sockpuppet. He thought I was a sockpuppet too.

No harm meant from me!

I hope no one thought I was trying to insult him. I actually thought he might be a woman because he seemed so incredibly intuitive (except for the fact I am NOT a spy or Jersey Girl! ;P), and intelligent.

Sorry!

I think Scratch is a man because he is so incredibly intuitive and intelligent.

You're saying that in the wrong thread Nehor. I'd book it if I were you.
