The unwritten rules of the MA&D board, for newbies

Post by _Dr. Shades »

Many people have made mention of the ubiquitous unwritten rules over on the MA&D boards, the violation of which will get one banned--much to one's own surprise. Just see the recent experience of mms, for example.

So, as a public service, I thought I'd compile a list of the real rules of the MA&D boards, including all the unwritten ones. That way, whenever someone decides to venture over there, he or she will be well-prepared (for a change).

Here are MA&D's heretofore-unwritten rules that I can recall offhand:
  • Do not challenge DCP, Bill Hamblin, or David Bokovoy on anything. Preferably, do not disagree with them on anything, either.
  • Do not be Kevin Graham.
  • Do not be harmony.
  • If you are found to be in violation of rules 2 or 3, you will be immediately banned.
  • Do not mention the words "Kevin" or "Graham" in the same sentence. If you do, the clock will begin ticking on a 48-hour grace period, after which your membership will be revoked and you will be banned.
  • Do not disagree with Juliann and be female. You may do or be one or the other, but never both.
  • If you are a disbeliever in one or more aspects of Utah's dominant sect of Brighamite Mormonism, you may not articulate your reasons for being that way.
  • If you are a doubting member of the church, you may not challenge or otherwise disagree with the answers you receive.
Did I miss any? If I did so, please reply to this message with the rule(s) I may have missed.

Hopefully, armed with the knowledge of the real MA&D rules, their new members will be much better prepared for their participation there.

"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

- If it's a choice between the truth and what's faith-promoting, never choose the truth
- Never treat others as DCP, juliann or Pahoran treat you
- You will never get the last word in. Deal with it.
- If you expect structure and fairness, look elsewhere
- We Mormons are idiots, and we don't apologize for it, not matter how stupid you make us look
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Shades,

That's a fair assessment. Just a couple of tweaks, especially since this is for newbies.

-When "MA&D" is first referenced, the full name is preferred, "FAIR/MA&D", then on subsequent reference, "MA&D" or "MAD" is acceptable.

-Also,

If you are a doubting member of the church, you may not challenge or otherwise disagree with the answers you receive.

Also be advised if you are a doubting member of the church, you will be immediatly marked as a troll.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

You need something regarding the fact that the mods monitor PMs.
WK: "Joseph Smith asserted that the Book of Mormon peoples were the original inhabitants of the americas"
Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Wow, what a derailment.

Let's get this thread about the unwritten rules of FAIR/MA&D back on track.

If anyone is looking for the, uh, retarded thread, it's in the Off-Topic Forum which you can find if you click here.

Your list reminds me of Packer's talk on the unwritten order of things. The MAD squad has a good example to follow.

Shades, you put my on-topic comments down in the off-topic forum!

I have fussed with Juliann and was not banned. Although I tried to be respectful to her and perhaps that played a part in it? Although that became increasingly difficult as I continued to interact with her.

I also did a 'tattle mail' and was not banned.

This is not true. Doubting members will now be automatically sent to ldsforums for dialogue and fellowship. I think that this is a good idea to weed out the geniune doubters from the false doubters.

why me, which camp are you in? Are you a genuine doubter or a false doubter?

Perhaps you could explain how the "powers of discernment" are implemented at MADB to determine whether someone is a genuine doubter or a false doubter.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.
