When a man and woman are sealed in the Temple, the man is sealing his name upon his wife and children in the name of Christ. That man will be judged by how he cares for all those that his name is sealed upon.

God is exalted by the bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of his spirit children. If a man seeks to dwell with God, he has to emmulate him in this same manner (1 Cor. 11:7) A man will be judged by his wife and children and their testimonies regarding him. His name is associated with them, and it must be shown that salvation is to be found in his name.

If a man falls away from the church and dishonors his priesthood, hew will be incapable of calling forth his posterity and laying claim to them in exaltation. He wil be unable to call them forth in the resurrection. In this a woman has every right to seek out a righteous man who will be able to bring his family into the Celestial Kingdom by right of their beign his through the power of Elijah.

Isaiah 4:1

"And in that Day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach."
We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. - Plato

We're not talking about men who dishonor their priesthood, Gaz. What relevance does this have to the OP?

Gaz, you make the marriage of a man and woman sound so wonderful and romantic.

Hmmm....I'm guessing it involved me and chauvinism in some way.

This is in reference to the way the thread changed around 8:23 this morning. Please keep up.

I learned long ago that it is impossible to overestimate how much symbolism the sex-obsessed can find everywhere. I'm glad I don't live that way. Seems like it would get bland after a while.

I hope someday, Nehor, you can visit the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial in Sharon Vermont. Perhaps with your wife entourage, too. Billed as "The World's Largest Polished Shaft," it is not merely a phallic structure, but one of the most accurate physical metaphors ever to be created. For what else is Mormonism but a big shaft?
