I'd seek new employment.

This guy's behavior is reprehensible. I have no doubt that that there are enough like him among the ranks of those called by God to seriously **ck with a good many persons' lives.

Fortunately, I also think that they're a relatively small minority among God's elect.

This type of boorish behavior is found everywhere. This guy is probably a jackass in all other aspects of his life; only that Mormonism has given him yet another outlet for him to act the jackass. He probably was called to this position of leadership either because he was connected to someone in power or his prestigious profession and comfortable wealth, the two criteria that appear very closely aligned with how God defines worthiness to lead the flock.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."

Agreed. That reminds me of something J. Golden is rumored to have said: it seems some leaders are sent to lead us and others are sent to try us.
