here's a simple question for you gifted apologists:
think of a church other than LDS which you feel is part of the "church of the lamb of god". If that church baptizes, is the baptism valid? will it save the person in the celestial kingdom if they live up to its agreement?
how stupid is it to believe that a church without authority to perform saving ordinances is "the church of the lamb of god"?

Sorry, The Dude. I missed your question. The ones who have anti-Mormon, or anti-any other church rallies. Who burn crosses on lawns. Who hold modern day Jews responsible for the crucifixion of Christ. Who teach hate.
I think the point of Nephi's statement is that it might not be entire churches by name, but more on an individual basis. Maybe one person sitting on a pew could belong to the church of the devil, and the person sitting next to him/her could belong to the church of the Lamb.

In 1983, my seminary teacher taught us that the Jews suffered the holocaust because of what their ancestors did to Jesus. I see it is now not politically correct to hold such beliefs and is a real downer on converts who are partial to Jews.

So, in essence, you are not talking about "churches" per se (that is, formal religious institutions with specified belief systems) but more about a person's inner beliefs, behaviors, morals, etc.
Do I have that correctly?
The problem I have with this is that it portrays a black and white, two-dimensional human morality; humans are much more morally complex than this.
What are the characteristics of those who belong to the Church of the Devil vs. those who belong to the Church of the Lamb? Perhaps if you described these we could see more clearly what you mean.

Oh, I think the church has been almost everywhere - almost everyone just said NO! The church means nothing to the world, its only real grasp, which it is in the process of loosing, is with those children who had no choice in their baptism at the ripe old age of 8.
