Herbal tea is O.K. because there is no caffeine. Is your head spinning yet? I thought so. There really is no rhyme and reason to it all. Just no coffee and no tea. Don't think beyond that.!
I would make a terrible Mormon. I like to think and question! It seems to me the whole caffeine/tea issue is treated somewhat differently by various Mormons. From what I've gathered so far, some say it's not about caffeine, so coke is OK and others think it is, so coke is not. I looked around the web to see what others were saying and read an opinion that said you should ask your local clergy (sorry, I can't remember the term they used and there seem to be so many different ranks held by Mormon 'clergy' that I just can't remember which it was) for advice on what is applicable to your area. Surely, if this whole thing were true, God wouldn't have made it so open to interpretation. If these 'clergy' are actually channeling God's word then how come there are so many discrepancies? The more I learn about this Mormon parlarva, the more I wonder how anyone with any kind of clue could actually believe such nonsense. I don't mean to disrespect TBM's but I just don't get it.
I think that if the Word of WIsdom was really concerned about the whole health aspect, then surely drinking Coke, even decaffeinated would be way worse for you than drinking green tea. It's either full of sugar or full of chemicals. Ah well, it's breakfast time here, so I'm going to go make myself a nice HOT cup of green tea to eat with my toast. :)
