People can jusify anything. I was simply asking her to go with her gut instinct as opposed to waiting a bit and justifying it in her head.

I was not clear, my bad.

ack! Trust me, no one wants to hear me muse on masturbation in a thoughtless manner........... or there might be a few that do want to read that?

But in case that's the case I'll refrain from sharing. :)

Jersey

My gut tells me that if humans were able to develop the kind of self control that it takes to be a god, there would have been no need for a Savior.

I'll say it again, we are not expected to be able to in this lifetime, we are supposed to set ourselves on the path to being that way.

Did you read my post? Care to give me your interpretation of the scriptures I listed?

by the way, totally not in the know on these matters, did Jesus ever deal with any sexual topics? I don't recall anything - of course I'm a complete Bible illiterate.

After saving the woman who was to be stoned for commiting adultery, he told her to go her way and sin no more.

Paul spoke more on the topic.

Sure, I'll be glad to. Just as soon as I get the first reference up here in context. Please stand by.

I've heard references to that story, I believe.

Is that the one where those without sin should cast the first stone? Or something of that sort?

Correct

John chp.8
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

One always has to wonder what it was he was writing on the ground.

Perhaps he listed sins that they had committed?
