Sorry, I can feel my IQ dropping just be listening to this thread. I will therefore leave before it falls any more.

Have fun children, snortling and guffawing.

And my prediction comes true, with charity leaving the discussion because it got "offended".

Not offended, merc. I was not the kid in glasses who was called a nerd. I just grew up and figured out that kind of behavior wasn't very grown up. You are not offensive, just juvenile.

Neither are allowed. Although they claim to make up for this by having "social clubs". I'm not sure what those are, but I remember one of them involved a bunch of nerds dressing up in chainmail and fighting each other with wooden swords on the grass near Heritage Halls.

Nah, that was just Keene

No DG has any right making this claim.

Hi Charity. I've not yet had the pleasure of conversing with you. I was the one who used the offensive "nerd" word. It's kind of an inside joke amongst us heathens (I drop the nerd word at any mention of World of Warcraft...or WoW...but I wouldn't want you to confuse that with the Word of Wisdom). I'm sorry you find it intolerable. Actually, that's dishonest. I don't care what you think about it. I wonder if you find the part of your post that I bolded to be hypocritical. If not, that's okay. By the way, I am not in junior high. I don't have pimples. I was lucky. My younger brother had to take acutane for his severe acne. Not a subject to poke fun at. by the way...I'm an immature 31 year old with a master's degree in genetics. I'm currently working on HIV research. Thanks for being here.

Edited to add: Didn't you see the movie Revenge of the Nerds? The nerds were the heroes...the cool kids...the ones that triumphed. If you haven't seen that movie (it is rated R), I encourage you to give it a spin. ;)

This is one of the funniest posts I hve seen since I have been here.

I was at BYU when they did away with the "service clubs," which were really fraternities and sororities. If I recall correctly, there had been some problems with drinking and hazing, so the university simply did away with them. My sister was in Vaknomh (I can't remember what stood for, but she had the little club ring). Her father-in-law was a Bricker, and he told me that he was usually the designated driver for club activities.

It's interesting that the church has its fraternity Lambda Delta Sigma on every campus except for church-owned schools.
