The thread was titled something like, "Nephi is a child" And Momus in the op wrote something about treating Nephi like the child he is and everyone else go for it.
Wow. What had Nephi done that prompted such a display?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

It started when Nephi asked to have his account deleted. He wasn't getting a response from the mods via PM, so he tried a post. That didn't work, so he got outrageous to try to get banned. The observations from here on the events is here:
The most egregious thing (in my opinion), was when Momus pinned a thread at the top of the board inviting posters to make fun of Nephi. Which many people did. Momus egged folks on throughout the thread, and behaved like a general ass. We're fairly sure Momus was a woman, but there is some debate on exactly who it was. Of course, the thread and all indications of its existence were later deleted, after Skylla closed the thread (after 8 pages of piling on Nephi).
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Apparently Nephi asked for them to delete his account. That request was refused. I believe?
Then he apparently freaked out and started telling the posters to screw themselves and posting various porn links. Of course they didn't ban him. No, instead they created a thread to taunt him and make fun of him.
It was just all very, very childish. Nephi acted poorly, and yet the response was a bit absurd too.

Yep, when it was pinned at the top of the forum I blew my stack! Really, I was boiling. It was not necessary. Very, very ugly behavior in my opinion.
Wow. After years of watching some of these MADdites, I thought I was beyond being surprised by any of their antics. But this one does sound like a new low.

I think I've been watching the board for a couple of years now, and it definitely was the worst of the worst for me. I was quite ashamed of the participants. Oh - and if anybody had a critical comment to make about the existence of the thread (and there were a few), they were called "board nannies" by Momus and essentially told to butt out (hmmm - who does that sound like?). Basically, Momus was not going to be denied her juvenile bullying. Niiiiiice.

I was called a board nanny.
I replied that the labeling of board nanny was a way of weaseling out of slimy behavior that I was pointing out.

I admired how you stood up to those jack-holes.
