They act alone, cinepro. When you get slapped it's because of one moderator's temperament. That's what's so cruel about it.

So what you're all saying is that the community objected to something that Nephi did so they formed a mob, pinned him to the top and mocked him while he hung there.

Hmmm...that storyline sounds vaguely familiar.

I don't think Jesus told anyone to "ef" him, though.

one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

Wow. What had Nephi done that prompted such a display?

Apparently Nephi asked for them to delete his account. That request was refused. I believe?

Then he apparently freaked out and started telling the posters to screw themselves and posting various porn links. Of course they didn't ban him. No, instead they created a thread to taunt him and make fun of him.

It was just all very, very childish. Nephi acted poorly, and yet the response was a bit absurd too.

Ah! the old tuant and make fun of him trick. He should have known. Just look at the way the saints treated those they did'New Testament like in the early LDS church.

By "early LDS Church" are you speaking of Nauvoo, Kirtland, Palmyra, Far West, Council Bluffs, or SLC? That tends to make a bit of difference, in my opinion... well at least to some that is.

Well, in southern Utah, they killed those they didn't like. I believe the definitive action is called the Mountain Meadows Massacre now.

I don't know that I would consider that the "definitive action." It's certainly the most wide-known (as far as its existence, but the “facts” aren’t exactly “wide-known”), but there are a few that I might consider to be more “definitive” of a negative treatment of someone they didn’t “like” (or an opportunity to exploit a “Gentile” [such as in the latter portion of the Nauvoo period]). Sorry, I didn’t mean to derail with my comment, but this is why I was wondering which period of the “early church” he was referring to as it tends to make quite a bit of a difference. Perhaps I’m taking a tongue-in-cheek comment too serious though.

Oh, I think he was relying on the historical record to support his statement. After all, just ask what happened to the women who spurned Joseph's advances. They were held up to public ridicule and lies were circulated about them.
