Stick around!!
Amen. Or was that Amun? Where is Joseph Smith when I need him most?
“I was hooked from the start,” Snoop Dogg said. “We talked about the purpose of life, played Mousetrap, and ate brownies. The kids thought it was off the hook, for real.”
Thanks for the kind greetings. Unfortunately, playtime is very limited these days. I'll drop in as time permits. (I generally avoid online forums because an environment where inhibitions are minimized often brings out the worst in us.)
I neglected to add an additional note on Coggins7's misstatement. Not only were traditions about Genesis 12:5 referring to Abram's converts readily available in the early 19thC, but so were virtually all of the significant rabbinic parallels to the BoAbr offered by LDS apologists (including Terah's idolatry, the attempted sacrifice of Abram for his refusal to worship false gods, Abram's miraculous deliverance, and so on).

Thanks, Brent. It seems like there's not much left for Book of Abraham apologists to cling to, except maybe the catalyst theory.
I'm glad you dropped by. I'm still kicking myself that I never took the time to say anything more than hello to you when we both worked at Novell years ago. Oh, well.
Hey Brent, you might want to have a few words with Charity. She's studied the Book of Abraham issue more than most of the critics.
ps: ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
Thanks for your appreciative and humorous responses.
I think it's telling that Coggins7 (if that is his/her real name) has returned, after a brief respite, blathering on with more unbridled poppycock—all the while avoiding this thread like the plague.
Time permitting, tomorrow I'll offer a few comments on Will Schryver's maladroit speculations on the textual history of Abraham 1:12.
