Gossip--When the scriptures gives names with misdeeds?

As I undestand it, originally the names in the D&C were changed to protect many mentioned. It wasn't until years later that the actual names were published in the public editions.

The stories you are about to hear are sensationalized gossip. Names have been changed to protect the "example".

For some names, you are absolutely right. I understand that your moniker, Gazelam, was applied to the prophet Joseph Smith on occasion. However, I would like to see evidence for your assertion in the case of the names I did mention. I believe the old book of commandments is available online somewhere so we can check it out. Anyone have a link?

Believers, just imagine, for a moment, that Joseph Smith wasn't a true prophet speaking for God. Just think how disgusting a maneuver this would have been under that circumstance.

That's kind of where I was going with my first post.
