Not for me.

I'll second that.

Well, such is life! Live and learn and do what you can with what you've got.

I do think it helps to have parents as good role models rather than to grow up around unhappy people as I did. But, that is no excuse for how bad I am at that marriage game.

I suck at marriage.

I suck at a few things. Marriage being one of them. :)

We just haven't been married yet.

I propose a new MDB religion where we're all in one big marriage. Everyone is fair game. All in favor, say aye!

And, as prophet of this new church, I get dibs on the first go with the women....

Except who do I pick first.....wow....what a tough choice!!

Scottie, you're proposing an orgy. Let's not frame it in LDS terms such as 'one big marriage'. ;)

Hey, if I'm engaging in polygamy, the sister wives better get friendly with each other, otherwise it's just not worth it. Why else all the wives if not for the big orgy?

hehe

My marriage has thrived despite some seemingly huge theological differences. I think it's mainly due to the fact that my wife is so hot, but at the same time, so cool.

It's probably not a coincidence that I was raised in a house that had parents who were visibly in love with each other. Growing up, I just assumed that was normal.

Scottie, I'm hurt. I thought I would be your first choice, hands down. LOL

Can I just mention that I find it sort of cute that in a thread about happy marriages there are married folk flirting unabashedly with one another?

I probably shouldn't comment.... but it would appear from all the marriages I've observed that no coupling is perfect, and that any person could get along well enough with any of a number of partners. Few people in their lifetime will probably ever come across the person who is best suited for them, and so should try to do their best with the person they best connect with.

by the way: That crap about being able to base a marriage on "the Gospel" or whatever is a crock in my opinion. How many marriages break up because people have a change of faith or belief and suddenly realize that they don't have anything in common with their spouse except for whereever they go to church? Talk about building a house on sand....

I flirt with a clear conscience...(which is both liberating and depressing at the same time ://)
