I need some old time religion from the eighties.

Church seems so watered down these days. The diluted doctrine taught in Sunday school today can't keep me awake. I was raised on high octane Mormonism!

Polygamy in the Celestial kingdom was discussed with some frequency.
We talked about the latest antics of the three Nephites.
American Indians, also known as Lamanites, could change shades like a mood ring when righteous.
There was always a Paul H. Dunn fireside to look forward to.
A priesthood holder could bare testimony of blessing his cars radiator on a family vacation.
The translation of the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon seemed always to be on the horizon.
We were the friggin ELECT, saved for the last days!!!
We all new that Bigfoot and Cain were the same person.
And if things ever got the least bit dull, we could always speculate on who might have had their calling and election.

What happened to the church of the eighties? Its almost like an episode of mythbusters yanked the rug out from under us.

LOL, I was totally raised with the idea that polygamy was still an important belief of the church. I distinctly remember sitting in Sunday School class (not in Utah, but in the South), defending polygamy to the others in the class (including the teacher)!!! I couldn't have been more than 10, so this would have been late 70's.

How long has it been since polygamy has even been mentioned in church?

I was Gloria! I performed it with a professional touring company in SLC while I was a BYU student. (I was also the Assistant Director and Vocal Coach for the show). Ah, yes..good times! LOL
