Is Charity a MDB troll?
Charity's thoughts at MAD:
"Reformed Egyptian,
A troll is someone who comes here, inquiring about some pont of doctrine or history, saying, "I just want to know. . . ." However, the person really has his mind made up and wants to convince others of his position. So the first post starts out very childlike and humble, which are good qualities, of course. But then subsequent posts begin to throw in the spin. Such as "the church is lying to me."
It is like laying a trap. Many of us here have been sucked into responding in good faith to such a person, offering an answer only to be jumped on as the troll thinks he springs his trap. Only we have yet to see any trap with teeth in it. And trolls have to run for the hills with their tails between their legs.
If you are not a troll, you are very welcome here. If you are, get set for a bumpy ride. Trolls don't ever end up happy here.
Now, the untrollish behavior would be to read the posts given to you carefully, see that nobody was lying to you. The revelations offered by the Lord to us through Joseph Smith are true and for our edification. "

It's interesting how people go to MAD seeking answers and then end up turning into a MAD troll.

liz,
I think styleguy was using Charity's specific definition of a MAD troll. By that definition, I have to agree that she acts like her own definition of a troll.
But that is not the typical definition of an internet troll. By the typical definition, no, Charity is not a troll.
Charity's definition of a MAD troll is really just a critic who isn't convinced by the apologists' responses.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I think her main concern was someone misrepresenting who they really are.

Well I've been called a troll twice now in the last few months and didn't really know what that term actually meant. So I looked up the term on wiki, just to make sure I'm not one!
What is so funny, to me, is that the person that fits the above description is the one that called me a troll. Hmm... whaddaya call that? Projection? Oh sheesh.
I think by Charity's own definition she is a troll. Who cares who is or is not a troll? Just respond to everyone in the same fashion and don't fret who is or isn't. MAD gets too uptight about trolls, I believe.
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum or group with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response
