What are you thankful for?

Post by _Runtu »

At this Thanksgiving time, I would like to know what you're thankful for.

Me, I'm thankful for a wonderful family. We have our moments, but we love each other. I'm grateful for my health (physical and mental), which I have learned not to take for granted. I'm grateful for a good job in a good place with good people. Despite what some people say, I'm grateful to be here in Utah among good people (who are not in the least "ghastly"). And I'm grateful for my faith.

How about you?

I'm grateful for:

- my beautiful wife and daughter
- my brothers
- my friends
- my high paying job
- my health (and health care)
- my comfortable home
- my toys
- football
- World of Warcraft
- oh, and what the hell... the cats, too
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

I'm grateful for:

A very beautiful son. And a few other things:

1. the chance to do a lot of traveling;

2. peace (even though it took going single again to get it!);

3. a fun, fulfilling job with control (pretty much) over what I get to teach;

4. a beautiful city in which to live;

5. no need for a car of my own;

6. my new puppy;

7. my new puppy (Oh, I already said that!);

8. good German beer;

9. enough money to travel and eat and smoke what I like;

10. to be out of the Mormon church;

11. some very good friends here who have been very supportive as of late;

12. Al Gore for discovering the internet and bringing it to all of us in the world;

13. good coffee;

14. whatever directed me toward the park in Prague at 9:30 p.m., where I was privileged to meet the most gorgeous woman I've seen in a long, long time;

15. the other thousands of things I won't mention here now.
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...
