The Greatest Lie.

Post by _karl61 »

You can't know true happiness unless you are a true blue Mormon. I don't know if it is inferred or implied or just plain stated but it's wrong and hopefully mercy won't rob justice a certain people will get their due.

When people say that the church doesn't brainwash people, this is often one example I think of.

I'm pretty sure DCP and his ilk will claim that they have NEVER EVER heard this said in church, even though this is standard fare for the rest of us.

It stems from "wickedness never was happiness", and as we all know, if you are not a member of the LDS church, you are living a worldly lifestyle of wickedness.

What is the difference between 'true happiness' and regular happiness?

Looks like Scottie is a prophet. He wrote:

"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Yes, but if I accused you of being a bull-buggering sociopath would my anticipating a denial make me a prophet?

Yes...the little time I've spent on the MAD board was very much like this exchange. There is the church culture -- the one most of us experience(d). Then there is the one the apologists claim to be the REAL church -- the one where only pure doctrine is taught. Even then, the pure doctrine keeps changing, with the justification "that was only his opinion" when referencing the change.

I definitiely grew up here in Zion with the teaching spoken of here. My first doubts about the church came my first few days in Japan on my mission. The people there were so nice, family oriented, moral, etc. It was what I had believed happiness looked like! How could they be "happy" without Christianity -- let alone Mormonism?!
