I personally don't think so. I think it's just symptomatic of the fact that they've finally gotten the board they always wanted.
Who was the last critic to be banned?
As Bond...James Bond suggested, I think it was Trashcanman.

Last week Drewm777 (a TBM poster) got suspended for saying something insensitive about how a church court should be held for somebody else (another poster If I recall correctly).
Did anybody see this? The next day, Drewm's wife registered and started a protest thread. No, a poll it was, asking everybody if they thought the MADB mods exercise unrighteous dominion over other members. She sounded about as PO'ed as Nephi got when the mods wouldn't close his account. Some people are way too wrapped up in this.

It was kinda sad.

Which is what? A forum virtually devoid of hot-button critics? What a pity... One interesting new feature I've observed is MAD as a kind of "welfare program" for amateur Mopologists, such as Coggins7. Coggins, as we all know, cannot hack it in debate, and in fact sucks harder than the latest model of Hoover in terms of LDS apologetics. Thus, MAD is useful as a kind of "hand out service" whenever he finds himself at a dead end.

So, then, perhaps it's more accurate to say that MAD exists as a kind of phony bastion for reassurance? Sure, it will never provide any useful support, but, hey---at least you know that it's there!
