We don't have the power to tell that he's lying about his deepest truest logical musings. Only you can do that, Mrs. Strawman. We are stuck with his words and clarifications, and we can't see anyplace where he says what you insist he means.

You shouldn't blame us for lacking the same mind-reading abilities you possess.

So, he did not retract what he said. And can't you use your logical mind Old Testament figure it out? "Scientific evidence" (his words) mean that the Book of Mormon was a 19th century work of fiction. His words.

Take that apart with your scientific training. The ONLY scientific evidence that has ever been brought to bear on the Book of Mormon is the DNA-Asian-Lamanite thing. Any other argument from any other discipline is simply "we didn't find any evidence for it."

Second part: Joseph Smith said the Book of Mormon was translated from ancient gold plates delivered by an angel. IF he composed the Book of Mormon himself, or knew that others had and delivered it to him to put out as an ancient record, then that makes Joseph Smith a fraud.

And yet, you think somehwere in his heart of hearts, Murphy doesn't believe what he said? Talk about mind reading!

Charity,

Can't you see through the smoke Murphy is blowing? He says, "When I said scientific evidence shows that the Book of Mormon is a 19th century fiction, I didn't say DNA proves the Book of Mormon false or Joseph Smith a fraud."

But what is he saying? I asked you, and you could not seem to anser: 1. What is the scientific evidence if it isn't DNA? 2. If Joseph Smith lied about the origin of the Book of Mormon, isn't that saying he was a fraud?

Murphy can't simply wiggle out by saying, "I didn't say what I said."

What did he say Charity? You have been asked to document your accusation. Please show us where he said what you claim he said. Why is this so hard for you?

Has it even briefly crossed your mind that YOU may be the one who does not understand?

Over and over and over, people try to help you, they explain things over and over and over, they slow down, repeat, go over each word, and you do not seem to realize that it is YOU who does not understand.

Charity, with all due respect, you really need to step back a bit... You seem to think you know what others are thinking, what they meant to say, what they really mean rather than listening to what they are actually, in fact stating. You are so off the mark so often that I'm wondering why you don't ponder the idea that the problem may not be everyone else but it may be your inability to understand.

This thread is just one example of dozens... you argue against your own invented argument.

You seem to invent arguments, or misread the real ones, or somehow completely misunderstand. I'm not sure what is going on but I think it would be beneficial to rethink your approach, or get some clarity on what others are saying, or something.

Hope this helps...
