When I took North American Indian history the two main theories mentioned were:
1) The land bridge (from Siberia) and then gradually through inland passes in the glaciers
2) along the Pacific Northwest coast (from Northwestern Asia) by boat basically "island hopping" down the coast
So I assumed that they came from Siberia.

thanks TD and Steuss...I've been wondering about that as it did seem in some early texts Jehovah was still God and hadn't quite become identified with Jesus, yet.
