And dang, was hoping to attend the speech......but can't make it...darn.

10 to 1? Good odds around here...

I really hope its not during the Oprah vs. Dr. Phil WWF Smackdown steel cage match.

I'll never forgive myself if I miss that.

Next we should have Romney and Huckabee in a Republican hopeful Presidential Pray-Off. Mitt might be restrained from using some of his choicest phrases outside the Temple, but he looks like he could stay on his knees longer than Huckabee. Republicans of course, will be looking toward both difficulty of execution and promise of luxury birthrights in their voting tabulations.

Teehee. The sophomoric insinuation was too much to resist.

My current philosophy is that all politicians are whores, and I've just got to figure out which one has whored him/herself to agendas with which I agree. :)

Actually, there are a couple who are less whore-like than the others, but they don't appear to have a chance to win either nomination.

Back to the Romney speech, let's hope there isn't a Q/A period. If there is, I'm betting the questions would be vetted beforehand.

It will not be a speech detailing Mormon beliefs nor will there be Q&Q. This is pretty much what most the talking POL heads on Fox and CNN are saying. It would be a mistake for him, politically at least, to do that. It will be in the flavor of Kennedy's speech trying to assure voters that his faith is personal and he will let his conscience guide his presidency, apart and separate from the Church. He has said this over and over anyway. My guess is the only reference to any detail about things LDS is that he will say he will be independent from LDS leaders.

We heard this a month ago. This guy has so many false starts and in-house policy inconsistencies. It is a train wreck waiting to happen.

This campaign does not need this. Huckabee does not have to explain WHY he is a Baptist.

Well I agree but as Dick Morris points out Americans are still bigoted against Mormons and in many cases blacks (in a discussion about the country having ablack president or a Mormon president.)

If true, why is Obama getting such good reception without having to explain why he is black?

What's to explain? His parents were black and it's not like he can change his mind and join some other race (ill-defined as race may be).

I don’t think voters are nearly as worried about SLC have influence over Romney the same way it thought by Kennedy and the Pope.

I think they hear about Joseph Smith’s gold Bible, polygamy and "baptizing" dead people and they think it’s a quirky religion. But cheer up.. I am sure if Romney was a JW or Scientologist he would be getting treatment so its just not Mormonism.
