I received two degrees from BYU (B.A. and M.A.) and two graduate degrees from an Ivy. And, no, I don't think that makes me particularly special.
“I was hooked from the start,” Snoop Dogg said. “We talked about the purpose of life, played Mousetrap, and ate brownies. The kids thought it was off the hook, for real.”
DCP is not sharing his apologia on those prestigious seminars, nor is he presenting his apologia to learned academicians.
And why should he, my feisty little flagellate, when those prestigious seminars in all likelihood have nothing whatever to do with LDS apologia?
Somebody apparently failed to send the memo about how Mormon "academic" theories extend into the realms of history, Egyptology, archaeology, and so forth on over to Gomer Pyle's Kershaw, SC residence.

All well and good. Now, next time a secular academic conference or seminar is held, at which the topic is LDS apologia, and to which DCP is invited, I'm sure he'll be happy to oblige. I would imagine, however, that seminars and conferences within his areas of expertise neither call for an LDS critique, nor would it be good form for him to interpose LDS apologia into a secular setting in which he has not been invited to do so.
Now that I've explained to you what you already knew, but felt compelled to disregard in order to create yet another post personally attacking your favorite bogyman, move on, nothing to see here.
The face of sin today often wears the mask of tolerance.

Sometimes it seems like you go out of your way to misunderstand, but that's giving you way too much credit.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

At the next conference on Egyptology, perhaps a LDS scholar (Dr Gee perhaps?) will present a paper on the relationship between the Book of Abraham and Egyptology, just so everyone knows exactly how important to the study of Egyptology the Book of Abraham really is.
And at the next conference on the Dead Sea Scrolls, perhaps Dr Peterson could present a paper on the relationship between the copper scroll and the golden plates. That seems a logical connection.
And at the next conference on Ancient Languages, maybe a LDS scholar could present a paper on the relationship between Reformed Egyptian, the golden plates, and real Egyptian.
