Life is satisfying enough just watching your dumb self fly off the handle again and again. Go ahead and go to bed.

This is just sick, sick, sick.

I cannot believe what a warped liar you are.

Here's the scoop:

Liz3564 and Bond...James Bond can do the following things:

They can move, split, delete, and lock threads. They can also edit and delete individual posts. Lastly, they can check IP addresses.

That's all they can do. They cannot look up people's e-mail addresses, change people's passwords, add or re-arrange forums, give custom titles, delete user accounts, etc.

As for Keene and myself (and also Negative, although he almost never has the time or proclivity to participate here anymore), we have access to an "Administration Panel" which gives us all the above powers plus many others such as backing up the board, adding more moderators, giving people access (or restricting access) to various forums, changing the amount of posts in a thread before it creates "page 2," etc. etc. etc.

One power that the Administration Panel doesn't grant is the ability to read PMs. So I can't do it even if I wanted to. Now, Keene is the board owner and is quite an accomplished technical guru in his own right. Maybe he has the technical expertise to look at the board's files and software code in order to read PMs, but I don't know for certain (I've never asked).

LOL! This may become my new sig line!

Brilliant, Harmony!

:)

I agree with my friend here. Give it a rest, guys.

(Just so there is no confusion here, I'm speaking as a poster, not as a Moderator. As a Moderator, you can keep posting this little exchange to your heart's content. It's just getting irritating to read....as much as I love you both.)

And...to echo what Shades and Bond have clarified....No, Mods cannot read PM's. And, for the record, I wouldn't read PM's even if I had that ability. My PM's on FAIR/MAD were read by several of the Mods there, and I found it a gross privacy violation.

Keene has my permission (if he hasn't already done so) to check Scratch's PM to me posted on:

And observe how he altered it for board posting.

Overacting Rollo? I hope at least you have more integrity than that liar, if I agree with nothing else you write.

You are not an honest person Scratch. All you are out to do is attack, and humiliate, and ridicule Mormons, and desecrate and defile the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I pity you, because you are a very sad and pathetic human being with a huge chip on his shoulder, and while you attack, ridicule, and make complete fun of others, your skin is obviously very thin! Eventually, you will have a board with Mormon posters who do nothing but return the ridicule. There will be no profitable discussions on Mormonism, because they will all eventually do like Nephi, Nehor, Jason, Will, Bob, and many others who have and will choose to leave - like DCP. In short, you and your ilk will make this board a scavenger yard for birds of prey, at least in the lower forums. The only opinion you are really interested in is your own. The only feelings you really consider are your own. All you know how to do is attack. You have NO interest in open dialogue and frank discussions. You are not interested in "peace talks", dialogue, or genuinely trying to understand other viewpoints - only ridicule them and hope they fall into line with yours.

You are no different than Boyd Packer and others you criticise. You are just on the other side of the attacking divide, and there will be no end to this war of words, and no place for moderates, or moderate discussion. That is a shame.

You don't get it, Scratch, day by day, week by week, post by post, you will turn Mormon posters into the very thing you don't want them to become. Just look at Will's past comments to you, for example. Way to go, old boy (boy?). I don't attack them, and they often listen to what I have to say.

So I'm just sitting here wondering what, precisely, there is about this that is arguable.

I'm not a big fan of making public private correspondence. Not totally opposed to it; depends on context. But as general rule if someone sends me something privately, I assume he/she prefers that it be kept private. I certainly feel that way about my private correspondence, and I'd like to think others reciprocate in kind.

Ray A wrote:Okay Scratch, I will go to your level. Don't depend on my mercy here:

Scratch's PMs to me:

Baloney, Ray. You have been hounding me up and down the board for several weeks now, you deranged prick. It seems clear to me that the only reason you've been doing this is just to stir up a reaction. Way to go, Ray!

I wrote:

"For someone with four degrees".

Scratch's reply:

Ah, this was precisely what I expected from you. A personal attack. Now, supposing that I was honest, and that I really do have "four degrees," then you would be guilty of mining personal information from me in order to attack me. Not very nice, Ray!

This is what Scratch calls a "personal attack".

More:

In the end, Ray, you don't know anything about me. You still sit at square one. You call me "dishonest," so, am I? Have I been lying about everything? Gee, I guess you'll never know! Ha ha ha!

G'night, mate!

No, no one will ever know!

More:

F*** you, Ray. I'm not telling you s***. You are obviously just a boneheaded hick who probably learned his lessons about life from the Book of Mormon and from fortune cookies. I couldn't care less what happens to the Church or DCP. I don't care who listens, or what gets "accomplished". Life is satisfying enough just watching your dumb self fly off the handle again and again. Go ahead and go to bed. Shove your head up your ass while you're at it, you condescending son of bitch.
(my emphasis)

Shall I go on?

deranged $&%#@! Well, that's something I never thought of calling Scratch...until now. I prefer a more creative use of language eschewing profanity. Something more along the lines of "quivering protoplasmic mass" does more justice to my feelings about people like Mr. Scratch.

Don't be fooled: Scratch has no degrees, which goes a long way in understanding Scratch's long standing use of a credentialist argument to poison the well in an argument against anyone who also (like me, for the present), has no advanced degrees.

The rest of Scratch's profanity laced diatribe just reconfirms again what most of us TBM's already know about the kind of people who make boards like this their home and who cannot leave the Chruch alone once they have left it.

I actually love the Church, Ray. I really am serious when I say that I'd like to help "perfect the Saints." Of course, my notion of how to go about doing that are, well, a bit contrary, but, nevertheless, there it is.

This particular bit of mendacity only further cements Scratch's lack of intellectual and moral credibility in a world (anti-Mormon polemics) in which the coin of the realm is many times minted in such an alloy.

This is like Godzilla calling what he routinely does to Japanese cities '"urban renewal".

A mouldy oldie from the vaule would be apropos here:

Bow Down to the Glory That Is...

Poop.

Poop is all around us, and has many uses, including attracting noxious insects, creating family rows over whose going to clean up after the puppy, and pulling the Kirby out of the closet, figuring out how to put al those strange looking pieces together, and then putting one's shoulder to the wheel and getting that stain out...

Unfortunately, when there's too much poop, it can become a curse rather than a blessing. It fouls discussion forums and makes serious and civl discourse well nigh impossible. You're always stepping in it when attempting to tip toe carefully through a difficult concept or question, and no matter how hard you concentrate on substantive, mature, intellectual dialog, you can still smell it and it breaks your concentration and makes sustained effort difficult (you can just stand so much poop, especially a big, fresh steaming pile placed directly between you and civil, productive discussion).

Where's Heracles when you need him? Mormon Discussions can be an awfully big stable...
