Actually, Sesame Street is over. It's time for Barney. (I have a 4 year old)

I don't consider it a war either. It's just the free exchange of ideas and insults.

Quite frankly, I couldn't care less what apologists and TBMs think. I've haven't cared since I left the church. They never really say anything of consequence, so there are only two basic ways to respond: either with derision, or nothing. Often I say nothing, but sometimes, I feel the need to offer derision. I talk to them the way I do because it's therapeutic for me to do so. They represent a thing in my life that has caused me and my family a tremendous amount of anguish over the years, and so they're taking it on the chin for the church from me by proxy.

I recognize that people likely don't take what I say very seriously (they shouldn't, anyway), and it's not important that they do. All that's important to me is to vent my feelings as I feel them, and for that, I am eternally grateful to this board.

But a war? The only thing this situation we have has in common with war is that there are never any winners. That's about it. Calling this a war makes it sound like it's actually somehow important, like there's some universal conclusion at which we're all going to arrive. I'm sure nobody's holding their breath for that.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
