Why apologize at all? What he said was correct, as has been aptly shown on this very thread.

I always wondered what "begotten" means when people say Jesus was the only begotten son of god. We are all his children, so what's the difference between being begotten and not being begotten? All I can figure was god was up in heaven and he looked down on Mary's tight young body and said, "I gotta be gettin' me some of that sweet ass." "Be gettin'" some ass is the future tense, then after he finished, he had begotten it. Therefore, Jesus was begotten. The rest of us just came about from plain old vanilla sex with his wife. We weren't begotten. Make sense?

I like your theory of tenses, SWSU! But there's someone else we're leaving out of the discussion here. Yep, that's right, Mother in Heaven. You don't even need to get into the particulars of Jesus's conception, the idea that we are all the "children" (whether spirit, embodied or "begotten") of a divine parental unit is already different from what most christians believe when they hear the term "children of God."

Certainly Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are spiritual brothers. But Huckabee has to know it is not simpicitic and is not near as shocking as it sounds when explained fully. But to do so is tough to do in a political campaign. Thus it was a low blow.

When asked directly this morning by interviewers whether Huckabee's question as correct, Romney dodged a direct response and said that "his church had put that matter to rest."
I bet every time Huckabee raises the Mormon question, good ol' Mitt is thinking to himself: "That damn Huckabee is just like the Lucifer-led preacher in the temple movie!" ;)

LDS don't believe that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, actually. LDS believe that all will do so who inherit a kingdom of glory, but that doesn't apply to the Sons of Perdition. According to LDS beliefs, inheriting a kingdom of glory is in fact being "saved", and comes as a result of a person's accepting Jesus and his atonement. According to LDS belief, if one reasons it out, Adolf Hitler will be "saved" in the lowest kingdom of glory, and it will happen after he bows his knee to Jesus, confesses him as his savior, accepts the atonement, and is "saved".
I would differentiate that from the LDS notion of what Lucifer proposed in that Lucifer was supposedly proposing that all would return to the CK. The LDS notion describes almost universal salvation, but not necessarily in the CK.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I see your differentiation, yes. However, wasn't Hitler a Christian? So he's already saved, if indeed he was.

Early on, his speeches did seem to paint himself as a Christian (i.e. the 1920's); however as time went on (i.e. early 1940's) he began to make comments that were patently anti-Christian.
I personally think he was a pantheist.

I thought, there would be two Christs on the Earth and people would be confused as to which was the real Christ and which was the deciever. O wait this is a Mormon site. Apologies. I guess my ludicrous ideas will never be acknowledged.
