Can you imagine BYU students with a rod in their hand looking for someone to marry.

I think many BYU students do have a "rod in their hand" as they decide to marry....

I prefer to burn witches.

Lets retroactively burn Joe, in effigy perhaps

Charyou Tree!
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

What a better way to start off a marriage than to give the bride and groom a his and hers seer stone. of course during arguments - "Oh, yea!?" *sticks face in hat*

Beastie, I quoted two passages of scripture, written by prophets. You quote "the Bible" as though it were just one book written by one person. And a book which has been transmitted to us in its pure form. You make a big mistake there. So, no I don't support stoning anyone, not even child molesters. Or killing smart mouthed children. But we can pick the error out from the truth, with discernment.

No, I don't, as a I said before.

I believe in angels, visions, revelation from God, and many various kinds of miracles. Since I have personally experienced many of the events on that list, it is just the way it is. I speak from knowledge, not from ignorance, and your silly claim to the contrary is spoken out of bigotry and stupidy.

And so have I. Most of my experiences were outside of Mormonism, but I don't believe that makes them any more "true" than the Mormon experience...but it certainly makes the Mormon experiences less than superior.

If I time traveled (teleported?) a person from a thousand years ago to our day, and told him that if he turned that wall switch on, the Mormon God would light the room...he'd probably believe me -- and believe it was a sign that Mormonism was "true." I suspect that most "miracles" are similar to this. We assume a person (who happens to hold the LDS priesthood) who performs a blessing, for example, and the person is healed...that that means the Mormon priesthood is the only power from God. But what does it mean when a Buddhist performs the same miracle?

Think about it, Charity.

As I mentioned before, I am not a native english speaker.
At this point, I should look for the definition of
- knowledge
- ignorance
- bigotry
- stupidity
Or do I live on a different planet?
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

If I time traveled (teleported?) a person from our day to a few thousand years ago

All people are God's children. Everyone is entitled to the light. The righteous seeker after truth, will be enlightened. God does not withhold His love from anyone. Buddhist. Catholic. Muslim. Miracles follow those who believe. If the Buddhist believes in that higher power that is God, by whatever name he wants to call Him, then God can honor his attempts to live as God wants him to.

Somehow, I doubt the real Mark Hofmann would've misspelled his own name.

I like how the Mormons who constantly edit WIKI to be "faith promoting" have changed the header on Hofmann's page to read

"a disaffected member"

But of course.
