My own, somewhat relevant, personal anecdote:

My 7 year old son (who goes to church with my wife) picked up on the fact that I don't believe in god any more. So I asked him, one day, whether he thought daddy would go to heaven or hell. "Hell" he said without blinking. Ok, fair enough, though a little disturbing. So then I asked him a more general question. "Do you think daddy's a good person, or a bad person"? Without blinking again, he said "Bad person".

WTF? Of course, my wife was quick to jump in with me, and we got him straightened out. But seriously, wtf?

It's not any different. All religious indoctrination is wrong. Teach your children ethics.

How do you know those ethics are right? Another form of indoctrination????? DUN DUN DUN

Well, without knowing you I can't say whether he's right or not so we can't be sure if the Church influenced this.

Sorry to hear that you feel this way. I, personally, think the world is a wonderful, beautiful place, and it's getting better all the time. Our world today, is much 'lighter' than it was hundreds of years ago. Maybe the church, afterall, is the right place for you. Good luck with it. ;)

Agreed. I don't understand why people think the world is dark and gloomy. A few years ago someone posted a Mormon parody of Louis Armstrong's song "What a Wonderful World." I think it was titled "What a Wicked and Abominable World." Mormons have a very negative attitude towards the non-mormon world, and it's really sad. It is also evidence of the indoctrination that the OP is trying to deny.

I'm with the old, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...." ideology.

I'm not really comfortable using the term "brainwashing," though I do think that it's quite clear that the LDS Church affects people's thinking in a variety of very problematic and disquieting ways.

Well, when I was about that age, I thought that people who smoked were bad people. Maybe it's just that kids that age only have a very simplistic notion of right and wrong.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Well, I at least claim God told me my moral system is largely sound. You just have your......FEELINGS.

jskains obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Many people have died, either directly or indirectly, as a result of Mormonism and its teachings. (Or maybe he thinks that Blood Atonement is just an "anti-Mormon myth".)
