I really wonder if any of you honestly read your own filth? "Mormons are this, and Mormons are that". "All Mormons are idiots and lower scum". "Mormons are brainwashed and stupid", etc. etc. etc.
It's apparent that you haven't read our "filth", I've never seen anyone here make any of those claims you cite.
Then you haven't been reading Some Schmo's comments.

For someone who rails on the negative stereotyping of others, he demonstrates an advanced capacity for creating his own.
Not really.. Just commenting on what I see... And I am not the only one that sees all the negativity here.
JMS
Well, I see something radically different from you. Sure, there's a good deal of negative stereotyping and some bad behavior. But also a number of thoughtful persons on both sides trying to make sense of all this. Given that you tend to see the world through very negative colored lenses, I suppose that this tendency plays itself out here too. I also suspect that you are guilty of a good deal of confirmation bias.
And yes, your tone was confrontational from the get go.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."
I would love to finish our debate about gender roles--perhaps in the Celestial Forum. However, there is nothing I can do to control other posters. I can, however, ignore them.

I might be wrong about this, but I seem to give a pass to those who do not believe in the LDS faith (whether they once did or did not), as I expect more of those who do believe (or at least claim to believe).
LDS believe in being kind, turning the other cheek, forgiving, understanding, showing compassion, even to our enemies and those who despise us/despitefully use us, etc. So when one claims to be a believing LDS, I expect to see greater compliance with these teachings than I do from one who does not claim such belief. I, indeed, apply a double standard. I simply do not know what those non-believers have as their standards for the treatment of others on message boards or elsewhere, so as far as I know, they are living up to their standards--to what they believe.
It is the hypocrisy that gets me. It is almost surreal to be attacked by a believing LDS, called names and ridiculed (for example by Selek/Pahoran), for not being a good Mormon (because of a crisis of faith, for example). It is truly fascinating/mindboggling that as these people display utter disregard for the teachings of their religion, they attack another for purportedly not living up to their religion.

Well Schmo and Infymus (love ya Infy) are kind of out there (I get out there at times too, particularly with Charity and with DCP in the past, ok with Coggins at times . . . maybe a bit with rcrocket), but I agree this is the exception not the rule.

Even some of your signatures are nasty, yet I am told I came in with guns blazing? No, I presented two concepts I thought could be interesting, only to see them sidetracked by a large crowd of hungry Mormonhaters. Some of you seriously need help, badly.
This isn't "Mormon Discussions" it is "Mormon Thrashings".
Whatever... I just don't have the time I used to, so I am making this quick and very short. Heck, this board is worse then ZLMB was. Vampires all abound!

Sounds like I need to call another Waaaaahmbulance.
Buh-bye.
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

What is "childish" about it, Josh? Face it: you've been caught acting like a hypocrite, hence why you want to dismiss it as "childish." (I will note in passing that I at least bothered to offer up support for my claim, something which you didn't do in your "brainwashing" thread.) You really ought to apologize for your strikingly immature behavior. If anything, it is your unwillingness to accept any responsibility which marks you as the immature one.
What you are doing is called deflection. Instead of addressing your own behavior, you have tried to dig up what you consider dirt when ultimately your just covering your own rear and not taking responsibility for your own actions.
JMS
And which actions would those be, my friend? Feel free to cite evidence, as I have done for you. I will wait patiently for you to enlighten me.
