In shock that you know about this and you like it. I really dig that song, too.

And the video.

Hi Josh,

What the hell does diabetes have anything to do with anything? I mean seriously... Does it really need to get this dirty? I haven't attacked you once, and your now mocking my diabetes??? And I am clearly nothing. I controlled it and have been off the medication for over a YEAR now after I successfully lost 60 pounds...

Come on people. Lets act SOMEWHAT civil, ey?

Josh, I'm being as respectful as I possibly can and just offering a thought to help...

I asked you what evidence you have for folks on the board hating Mormonism because you seem to have a way of misunderstanding.

A couple of examples...

Someone mentions that they hope you get some help and you interpret that as someone "demanding" you see a psychologist.

Beastie mentions you have shared some challenges with depression and diabetes and you interpret it as she is mocking you. (I interpreted it as she is trying to give some perspective to the situation).

It is as if your worldview is one that constantly feels attacted? Do you see this at all?

Did you actually read some of these "Get help" posts? I mean seriously. They amount to a massive smear campaign.

Beastie mentions you have shared some challenges with depression and diabetes and you interpret it as she is mocking you. (I interpreted it as she is trying to give some perspective to the situation).

Bottom line, if she was so concerned, she would have PMed me. No one was even discussing these issues. I presented two ideas that could have been the focus, but rather than just approaching the issue, "Beastie" made it personal and very public. All excuses aside, there was no value in her public response, period.

My worldview is more complex than just Mormonism. Quit trying to make this deeper than it really is. I came to a board where people sit around and stew about the evils of Mormonism. I presented two arguments that could have been easily addressed and discussed. Unfortunately instead of intelligent responses, it got ugly, personal, and nasty.

If your so "obervant", why do you not step up to the plate and point out everyone else's flaws? Do you honestly think I am a lone bad guy amoung a group of angles? Or are mine the most interesting to focus on?

Well, personally, I'm glad he shaved. The clean shaven look is much better than the scraggly beard thing.

As for the content... I couldn't find any. It's just blah/blah/blah standard Josh rantings. Nothing new and different there.

Maybe next time.

There is something very sinister about the dark, half-lidded look in his eyes, and I, for one, was disturbed by the villainous clutching gesture he kept making, like he was trying to pluck some especially ripe and rotten piece of fruit.

Pretty benign ramble. Nothing major, threatening....really rather boring.

That's what I thought too. But Josh always did like to be in the spotlight.

Josh,

I was responding to your comments that:

"no one wanted to know me"

"everyone demonizes me"

A person with a healthy world view does not make those sort of comments.

THIS is what I was referring to when I told you to get help. I remembered your past history, and these comments were huge red flags. People DID try to get to know you, and people DID try to help you, not demonize you. I saw it with my own eyes on the fringe board. But you did what you are doing here, which is interpret everything as a personal attack, and try to connect it to an attack on Mormonism.

TD: Someone mentions that they hope you get some help and you interpret that as someone "demanding" you see a psychologist.

Josh: Did you actually read some of these "Get help" posts? I mean seriously. They amount to a massive smear campaign.

Yes I read the thread and did not get that impression at all.

TD: Beastie mentions you have shared some challenges with depression and diabetes and you interpret it as she is mocking you. (I interpreted it as she is trying to give some perspective to the situation).

JOSH: Bottom line, if she was so concerned, she would have PMed me. No one was even discussing these issues. Again, I think you misunderstand Josh. She stated a fact. Nothing more. She wasn't trying to hurt you or mock you or anything.

TD: It is as if your worldview is one that constantly feels attacted? Do you see this at all?

JOSH: My worldview is more complex than just Mormonism. Quit trying to make this deeper than it really is. I came to a board where people sit around and stew about the evils of Mormonism. I was trying to help Josh. I wasn't trying to make anything deeper than anything. I asked you a question and shared a thought.

JOSH: If your so "obervant", why do you not step up to the plate and point out everyone else's flaws?

Did you feel I was pointing out your flaws?

If I think an observation may help a discussion or provide some helpful feedback I offer a thought or two... similarly I appreciate when others point out helpful ideas to me as well... or clarify a point I am not getting, or explain something when I misunderstand.

Josh: Do you honestly think I am a lone bad guy amoung a group of angles?

What would possible make you think this?

Have I ever said anything to you that makes you think I think you are a bad guy? Or everyone else are angels?

This is the kind of thing I was trying to share with you earlier.

Or are mine the most interesting to focus on?

Josh, you created a youtube video directed at the posters on MD. You spent over seven minutes reprimanding us.

So you shouldn't be surprised when the thread is directed toward you and your thoughts.

Anyway... never mind.

Again, I would suggest if you want to have a respectful conversation, why not start a topic in the Celestial forum and do your best to be respectful towards others... just see what happens?

Josh frequently mentioned his struggles in the past. Although most of the fringe archives are lost due to its transition to a different format, I did find this one:

Someone recently directed me to some comments being made here about recent comments I have made at ZLMB. First off, I want to comment about the constant assumptions about my mental condition and capacity.I would ask that those decisions and analysis be left to the psychologists. While I am going through rough times, I am not suicidal and do not lack in external social activities. I remain active with my friends and family, which is ironic since I never really had good friends in Church. Most are non-LDS, and I have not withdrawn from them. The situation is tough and marks a difficult period I have to struggle through, however, I also know how to cope and not allow it to impose on other aspects of my life. The stuggle I feel with the idea of my wife leaving me over this issue is more mild. She is struggling socially with the Church as well. While we do not share the same lack of testimony that I do, she understands my reluctance to remain active in the Church. We are reflecting on how to move forward from that situation. The conflict results in our difference of approach. I want to fade away from the Church altogether, but because she still believes, she wants us to continue and to struggle through. She is still under the "if you are having questions, it is because you aren't praying enough, or not reading your Book of Mormon enough, or you are sinning" mentality, which stems from her Mother.Anyways, I just wanted to post so that I can express my feelings about the dispersions people are putting on me about my mental health. While yes, I do own a firearm, I use it for mental release on a controlled range, and it won't be going anywhere near my head or other extremities.JMS
