Jskains Threatens Me With a Lawsuit

I'm going to chime in on just a couple of things. In the past I've acted as somewhat of a technical consultant for Scratch. I can virtually assure anyone here, that if Josh received an email with stripped headers, it wasn't Scratch's doing, he wouldn't know where to begin. Further, that email Josh posted wasn't penned with Scratch's careful and meticulous self-expression. (This by the way, is also clear evidence against Scratch being the RFM Scratch, but that's another story.)

I have no problem condemning whoever wrote that email (if ineed anyone did), that's clearly crossing lines. And no matter how bad things get on a message board, it's just not right to put people in fear over their real-life issues.

I think board protocol is that Josh email the mods about his concerns with scratch. he is certainly free to proceed how he likes, but given the way he's chosen to proceed, I hope the moderators seriously consider banning him. Because likewise, threatening lawsuits crosses the line of real-life security for board participants. I actually thought there was a rule against threatening lawsuits against board members, I guess not.

I agree with Trever about ignoring, but here's the problem: Josh has racked up almost as many posts in 3 days as I have in six months. He's in on topic after topic, baiting, getting personal (even if he doesn't always start it), making horribly uninformed observations, dragging personal experience after personal experience in, and there is no way that under such a rapid-fire onslaught of dramatic attention-seeking behavior that the majority of the members are going to ignore him the majority of the time. So basically you have a situation where, JSkains will be threating with legal action anytime things get too personal for him so nobody's going to want to deal with that and feel they need to tread lightly around him while he spurts out whatever is on his mind, accross a hundred posts a day.

To clarify, I wondered aloud if I ought to contact *my* attorney regarding your completely false claim that I "threatened" your family.

And for those who don't know, it is easy to write a headless email. Look up the provider's MX record, telnet to the SMTP port ("25") and start writing commands. SMTP is a text based interface. Nothing demands headers actually be added. SMTP's biggest flaw is it is one of the most unverifiable mechanisms around. That is how SPAM usually does NOT have the real "originating" address in the header.

So should scratch be banned for threatening me with a lawsuit as well??? Or is this a double standard??

I'm gonna post this one time and one time only. I don't condone for a single second what Scratch is doing here. Not on his blog or on these threads. Having said that...

Your information is all over the Internet. I searched up a couple of things myself but I will not mention publicly what they were. You are obviously a heavy internet user and when you put yourself "out there" or "out here" as the case may be, people can dig it all up and post it publicly on a message board like this.

That is why I asked you earlier in the thread if the claims Scratch made about you were true. If they are true and verifiable, you cannot rightly claim that a person is "smearing" you when you willingly put these things on the Internet.

We have a saying in Jersey, "Putting your crap in the street". In this case, Scratch didn't put your crap in the street. He merely collected up what YOU put there.

Do you understand?

Josh, you have a new baby on the way. When your baby comes, boards like this will begin to fade in significance. Let them begin to fade right now. In the grand scheme, people and pissing contests on board don't matter. These people, including myself, don't pay your bills, do your work, clean your house and they won't be the Dad to your baby. You have to find a way to resist the impulse to give more importance a board like this and the people on it then they (we) warrant.

If you want to keep posting here, why not join me for some stuff on parenting or children? Get your head out of the pissing contest, Josh, and on to something useful to you and your family. My one time good offer to you. Stay on a thread with me for a while until this stuff settles down. Tomorrow I'll begin an Off Topic child-related thread for you to look in on. Look ahead to your baby and get out of this stuck place you're at.

I know you from years ago when you were so young. My offer is for you as a future parent and based on my commitment to children and their families. Look there tomorrow.

The Blog wasn't "collecting". He was then adding his spin on top. That is when it becomes a smear campaign.

Ultimately I am under a lot of pressure. The baby was not planned (welcomed, but not planned), I have a company that I am trying to build, and there are health concerns that we are dealing with (including with the pregnancy). So when someone like Scratch is trying so hard to go after me, then I get this mystery email threatening my family.. They KNEW which Ward I was in. I don't even know how they knew that!!!! I have NEVER posted that information before!!!!

Do you know how scary that is????

Neither of you are going to get banned. Neither of you are going to get sued. Neither of you are going to fight to the death. Neither of you are going to harm and/or kill any members of the other's family. These boards are filled with people who have no idea who you are. Nothing here matters.
