I agree completely. It is too bad that he both has the requisite talent and prominence, but lacks the personality traits to fill this role well.

True. I think steve feeds off what he percieves as celebrity. His writing can be good at times but it usually always centers around his grandfather. Different story, same result. After a while they all blend together into a soup of monotony.

This is the only issue I have with Steve. He has ultimate God powers over on RFM. Nobody can challenge him and get away with it. If Susan I/S doesn't like your tone, she will delete your message. He receives absolute preferential treatment there. Many negative posts are deleted almost instantly (as Susan I/S never sleeps or goes out of her house, hitting F5 every 5 seconds).
I believe that some of the reasons that Tal Bachman and others left RFM was due to this, among other things.

Steve Benson is a dick, but is it really a surprise? Imagine what it was like growing up as a Benson. The stories he tells of his family, they were Mormon royalty. We have all experienced Mormon royalty. He has simply made the seamless transition from Mormon royalty to exmormomn royalty. I was really turned off by his treatment of Dan Vogel about a year ago. Imagine if he was an apologist. He would be more pompous and arrogant than anyone at MAD.
