Josh, this story is not very easy to believe and here is why:

You first insisted that Scratch take down the photo because it infringed on copyright. You now appear to claim that the threatening email is what made you take down your youtube videos and other things. However, mention was made of the youtube video in the very thread about suing Scratch. You did not mention removing the video at that point. Instead you insisted that you had the right to determine who can or cannot repost images of you. Later you claimed to take it down because of being scared from the threatening email.

Josh, I'm afraid to say that your story is not very clear. Does that mean you lied? No. It just doesn't help your side of the story. Your story may very well be true. If so, you have not given it in a manner I would expect to be consistent with one who really was threatened. Josh, if you really wanted to keep the threats to yourself, why didn't you PM Scratch instead of publicly chiding him? I believe you have acted inconsistently on this point. Again, you might be telling the truth and I wish to give you the benefit of the doubt. Someone under stress might not be communicating clearly or acting consistently.

Like ABman, I, too, would like to give you the benefit of the doubt. I will say that if anyone were threatening *MY* family, I wouldn't be frittering and wasting away my time deleting Internet stuff. Rather, I would be on the phone to the police ASAP.

Seconded.

Talk to the cops now if you have been threatened. Quit wasting your time with Scratch. Have the cops or a lawyer reason with him and others if necessary. You need to protect your family and law enforcement is the way to do it. They will take care of any problems on these message boards.

Yes, that was because I was more focused on the fact he was using it. At the time I demanded he take it down because I wanted my face off his smear campaign. At that point, I wasn't planning to shut ANYTHING down.

Yes, because at that point, that was my focus. Additional emails were posted recently, including one I wish not to publicize at all, that was even more threatening than the original. Then some comments were made about how my company could be attacked and how having my face plastered all over was a bad idea. Which is why I then became desprate to shut it all down. If Scratch was going to abuse it, who else could?

How so??? Scratch MADE it all public. I was trying to keep it as a PM. Since Scratch was already making everything public, what would have been the use of me trying anything else?

Sadly, I can guarantee whoever is doing the threats is laughing his/her ass of right now... Cause now your trying to help him/her.

I have already contacted law enforcement. Now I am just trying to get that one last photo removed. That is all. As soon as I can get confirmation of that, I am gone.

FYI, the local Sheriff's department says there really isn't enough to go on. And since looking at the logs, there isn't... The email can't trace.

I removed it quite some time ago.
